How do you feel and think about our society moving into extreme views and way of thinking in general about almost everything?

Honestly, lately I’ve been kind of blaming the whole idea of “states’ rights”, not for the extremism necessarily, but for the divisiveness. The extremism is then bred through that divisiveness, because I think a lot of people have a weird mentality where they want to go extra hard about shit just to make a scene and basically troll the opposition. With social media and all that, everyone has an opinion, and more importantly, they want everyone to know it. Where “states’ rights” come in…I think we’ve grown too large for that. We need everyone pulling the American national wagon in the same direction. What direction is the proper one? That’s where it gets complicated and I may not have all the answers, but I think we only widen the divide when we try to create these smaller cultures based upon some key political position within our greater culture. And it’s not like the old days, we have social media, so I know what’s going on with people in Texas, I know what’s going on with people in California. Both of those places are big enough to be their own countries, and they live wildly different, it seems. And regardless of which state you think does things better, or if it’s somewhere in the middle, that’s still like 60-70 MILLION Americans, and not everyone is working under the same conformed system, which I would argue is pretty essential. I think the idea is based around people in their localities can live one way, while people in others can live another, which would be fine, except those lifestyles seem to directly conflict with each other, and we don’t live in an isolated world anymore, everyone is seeing how the other side lives, and people just get mad about it, I guess. I think we’re just past the point where we can have little pockets of the country acting like their own sovereign nations just because it suits the locals, because that derails the overall progress of the country, in my opinion.

It just seems that way given our short lives. Mankind may grow in knowledge and technology it may alter us somewhat. We may forge a more peaceful society. But in a very real since we're just as barbaric and fearful as ever.

Its literally because dumb people are reproducing, dumber people don't think about the future and act based on whatever their impulse is telling them so they tend to be more violent. And I'm not talking about regular dumb people (average Joe's or whatever), I'm talking about people too dumb NOT to reproduce.

Intelligent people seem to think that, by not reproducing, that will reduce the population when it's the opposite. Plus, it seems that both sides (politically) will continue taking things farther.
