I have personally noticed how docile and eager to be obedient some Americans have become and indifferent to cops who do wrong and even defend them and government officials as if they don't realize they are public officials who work for us the people as we pay their damn salaries through our taxes.

Freedom isn't free. What you don't defend you will lose.

It's coming to a head. I don't think they've given up, though.

Between increasing labour union movements, frequent protests, and an increased awareness of how their politicians are fucking up their democracy, I think it's more accurate to say Americans are realizing if they don't start fighting and standing up for themselves, they're fucked.

Unfortunately, some take this to mean they should become neo-Nazi domestic terrorists.

But I think the grand majority are instead realizing that the GOP doesn't care about the American people and that strong civil movements are once more necessary because the larger institutuons have become corrupt and inefficient.

Somehow I actually feel more optimistic than last year about America's political health. I think more and more people are realizing they are going to have to fight for democracy instead of hoping it'll coast.

I think it’s slipping rather quickly we have lost the right to say what we want on Twitter and Facebook which is basically the town Square at this point we’re getting the IRS sucked on us for absolutely no reason because supposedly somebody will have them pay their taxes quite frankly there shouldn’t be any taxes except for sales tax. We apparently no longer have the right to choose whether or not we want to get vaccinated or not get vaccinated. I got institutions like the New York Times and our media saying that freedom of speech is actually dangerous to democracy in which case you shouldn’t have a democracy or any form of government whatsoever because freedom of speech is a basic God given right and if governments cannot agree or even News establishments can agree that freedom of speech is basic right to humans then we shouldn’t be having a government at all you’re not a threat to democracy and you are the threat true freedom keep giving liberals power

I think after 9/11 people got more paranoid about terrorism and didn't mind if Homeland took things a little too far in the name of security. Now the government is getting ready to launch the biggest attack on it's citizens since the Revolutionary War.

I think both. Our liberty is being taken from us yes. But most people dont feel like they have the time to do anything about it, or that their voice won't matter.

Plus the vast majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, especially lately. So the people that could collectively make a difference are distracted by their 9-5 from Monday to Friday, just to barely make ends meet. Their burnt out and exhausted and all they can focus on is getting through the next day.

And a lot of people feel powerless to the situation as well. Plus we're so divided as a country that it's easier to yell at someone online than get up and go protest. Protesting can lead to being arrested, which u lose your paycheck to paycheck job, then you lose everything, all because you wanted change.

So far people only protested the 2020 election that was stolen and those people were locked up , refused legal council , and had hardly no trials. There were a few people that protested some school boards and Biden told FBI to find something on them so they could be locked up. Now Biden has an armed force of Brown shirt IRS agents to get them

Given the cops have a right to use deadly force if they see their lives threatened, you're going to end up shot. Cops aren't judges or juries. Your life isn't over if you spend a few hours in jail
