He’s the last Soviet president who brought freedom to countries and ended the Cold War

Actually he played a part but Ronald Regan deserves a ton of credit. During the 80’s our economy was roaring and the Soviet Union was in dire straits. Regan was a tough negotiator and the threat of the “Star Wars” program forced the Soviet leader into several concessions. They could no longer keep up militarily and their people were on the verge of starvation so they tore down the Berlin Wall under the first Bush and the Soviet Union collapsed. He helped with some changes internally but he does not deserve full credit.

no the Berlin Wall fell because Gorbachev wanted to free the Soviet states….. and to put more freedom into the union

I’m sure that he wanted that but read your history, the Soviet Union was going broke and could not feed and mange all that territory because they were pouring too much into their military to keep up with the US in an arms race. We were applying a lot of pressure for them to try to try maintain a super power status. His hand was forced.
