What do you think of California forcing citizens to buy electric vehicles yet at the same time telling EV owners to not charge them?

This is the typical stupidity of the left/Democrats. They NEVER consider the consequences of their actions. They're always in a RE-active rather PRO-active mode. Usually, most everyone suffers at their hands because of their idiotic "logic".

They can't build any power generation plants because those require fossil fuels. God forbid they ever consider (contine to use) nuclear power. They actually shut down 2-3 of them in the past few years - because that's bad for the environment. They plan to shut down the last couple left in the state by 2025. Add their stupidity to ban all gas powered cars by 2035... just how do they plan to generate the volume of electricity they'll need by then? Dumb and stupid can't come close to describing their ideas.

When I read stuff like this, it makes me want a divorce from liberals in the US even more. Just draw a line somewhere and the idiotic left can go live in their "utopia". I give them less than 5yrs of survival.

Even worse... Newsom (the CA Gov) has plans to run for Pres in '24. His ideas are to turn the rest of the country into CA.

I love it! Something finally makes sense regarding electric vehicles... which is, it doesn't. You didn't note the switch to electric stoves as well... nyc doing same. I just posted a question about how to start addressing electric by human power. it's a start.

The bigger problem is my state does automatically what California does. So we will have the same troubles at some point, if we are so unlucky.

I just hope the keep getting water to grow food... or many of us are in big trouble...

Cart before the horse. Improve the grid and generation, encourage electric car purchases, but trying to force it before the state can support it is lunacy.

The very best case scenario is that the leaders have haphazard policies that are nonfunctional and dont reflect the actual needs of the populace. The worst case scenario goes into more conspiratorial territory wherein the population is merely obedient to what they are told and helpless without assistance.

As of right now only about 5% of Californians use electric vehicles. Here we are told repeatedly that were on the verge of black outs and not to charge your vehicle. What's going to happen when 100% of the cars need to be charged? Also if you can't charge your vehicle because of energy conservation what happens when one of these raging Cal fires flare up and you need to escape fast? Yeah you see how this is going to go.

Not true. It’s natural. The ice used to extend as far as South Texas and has been retreating ever since. It left a shallow inland sea which eventually dried up and is now the Great Plains. The ice retreated further and carved the Great Lakes. The ice is still retreating and will not stop no matter how bad you want to destroy the economy and peoples lives.
