California is trying to ban diesel powered trucks because they are racist. Huh?

Since minorities are the ones that mostly drive diesel powered trucks they are saying they are trying to ban them. They will not be selling them in California in the future if the ban passes.
All that would do would put truck driver's out of work and things like food won't make it to the grocery stores. Of course other things won't be delivered to businesses either.
I'm not sure exactly when this is supposed to happen.
I can believe the Democrats believe a truck can be racist - what next?

I'm a trucker and in California, so I might have an idea on how this would turn out.

The state could ban maybe the sales of vehicles with a diesel powered engine but not the trucks outright. The rules and regulations from the FMCSA and California DOT may write a rule similar to the ELD law they have for trucks made after a certain a year.

Basically, trucks made after the year 2000 (I think that is the cutoff) are required to use an ELD for their hours logged over the road and no longer can use paperlogs hand written from the driver. Drivers who drive a truck made in 1999 or older do not have to follow this rule and can still use paperlogs.

On most modern day trucks, we use DEF. You ever noticed how most newer trucks do not pump out "wild fire" clouds of black smoke like the older ones? That is what DEF fluid does. When we fuel up our trucks at the truckstop, there is 3 pumps that we can use and two are diesel with the last being DEF (the second pump is just diesel, but for your truck's right side tank so you can fill your left and right at the same time).

I'm sure people who drive a 2010 or lower will feel the bite of this, but as long as they don't haul reefer freight or any time of food produce, they won't care. The people who drive those older trucks are usually owner operators and will just pull flatbed, lowboy, or even tanker in a different state.

Now... If somebody wants to ban diesel trucks because they find they are racist but they don't actually care about emissions from said truck and THAT is the motivation they need to take something serious, then that person is stupid as fuck. If anybody actually thinks that, then they make a strong argument for allowing late stage abortion, because that is a level of stupid that should never have been born.

Well if they've got a cleaner way of fueling trucks it's a good thing, if not it will be a shit show. California is a funny state, they've all these wealthy democrats and champagne socialists living in gated communities away from thd homeless, ilegals, and working poor yet the gap between the wealthy elite (democrats) is huge and things are so bad that Californians are fleeing to texas, nevada, colarado and new Mexico for a better qualityof living. Basically California is being turned into a version of Mexico or a south America.

Probably over 99% of goods move by truck, and those are diesels because they are more efficient than gas powered truck.
Even their electric cars are delivered by diesel powered trucks.
