Why are wearing masks still an issue?

Question

It says on the box that masks will not prevent the spreading of viruses , yet educated college degree liberals apparently can't read and still think Masks make a difference.

The more educated , the less common sense a person seems to have.

why do medical personnel wear them when they operate on you? The N-95/Europe masks help. Nothing is foolproof. The blue masks are useless, no idea why they sell them... because people want to feel safer?

masks in school another matter. I don't know any students required to wear them, that is good. exception basis.

Why is china still shutting down cities and wearing masks... they don't want this crap to spread.. they probably created it, if not intentionally then by mistake. If they took the masks off and opened up cities and it spread over the world like wildfire, you'd be complaining about how they are attacking us. right?

If you didn't get the vaccine... I suggest you do, but you do you. This crap is still out there and it is killing people, not as often. If you don't have any protection (vaccine) and you are one of the unlucky ones, it can kick your A$$ worse than Mike Tyson ever could and you leave it up to your immune system to deal with it. Some I know of... didn't make it.

Masks are one of the strongest tools we have doing it's intended usage. Like every tool ever going half ass on proper usage is more dangerous then the tool saves you. With a mask it blocks spitting when moving your mouth.

A little history fact. George Washington as general was dealing with a small pox epidemic. He ordered variolation on the people. That was a process of people getting cuts on their arms and then rubbing small pox scabs and puss into those cuts. That order saved the American Revolution creating our nation today.

I work in schools, and plenty of the fellow teachers with degrees are stupid and lack common sense. About half the maintenance workers and 3/4 of the bus drivers were more intelligent than many of the teachers on things that involved logic and common sense. A degree doesn't make someone intelligent, but an intelligent person can make a degree look good because when an intelligent person performs well, most people think it is because of the degree, but when lots of people with degrees perform poorly, many still think they are intelligent because of the degree.

"The box" you're speaking of is probably the little paper things they hand out for free everywhere. Those have little effectiveness against the SARS virus. However, N95 and KN95 masks HAVE been shown to be effective in reducing the spread of respiratory droplets from your own body - dude.

Choosing to wear one is a different story, but once again like you usually do, you're spreading incomplete and misleading information because it suits your cynical narrative. If you actually care to read a study instead of listening to Newsmax or OAN, here's 49 of them:

Stranger still, people that work in hospitals and medical buildings who SHOULD KNOW better still INSIST that masks are worn in their buildings! YOU'RE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!!! DIDN'T YOU GET ANY OF THE MEMOS? Two weeks ago, I had to go to the ER and, everyone in the waiting room, where I spent most of my 4 hour visit, had masks on but, once I got taken back some of the staff inside weren't wearing them at all or just used them for chin straps! Most of the people I see wearing them either never cover their nose, or have them drooping below their mouth or just use them as chin straps, too! So, what's the fucking point?

the issue is that masks DO siginificantly reduce the risk of spreading certain diseases within a clinical hygiene environment. that is a fact you can't deny. but even these studies say that wearing masks outside of that may make it worse.

in day to day life, it's not feasible to have a clinical hygiene environment. the moment your mask becomes contaminated, be it that you touched it or that you put it in your pocket, it becomes a health hazard.

and everyone i ever saw used the same throw away masks for several weeks at a time, touching them with their grubby fingers and litterally breathing through a germ sponge for several months during the pandemic or even still today.

the medical facts aren't "wrong". just not seen in the right context.

Clearly the manufacturer, and you yourself, are insane. Masks are most definitely effective for controlling the spread of Sars-Cov-19, if work properly. Seriously. They act as a barrier and stop over 95% of water droplets from our respiration, lowering the chances of transmission by a large margin.

It should not be about freedom of choice! Even if you are ok with being infected without wearing a mask, it does not mean other people around you want to be infected. Wearing a mask is being considerate to the people around you, especially the immunocompromised, the elderly and children, because you can be infected and still don't know it.
