Honestly, why do people fail to do adequate research nowadays?

Masks are not 100% effective, yes, but are meant to be used in conjunction with safe distancing and good hygiene. They still slow the spread of the virus and reduce the risk of transmission, especially to vulnerable groups.

Seriously. Some people in the U. S. A. are either just plain brainless, ignorant, inconsiderate, or have an IQ of 30.

I keep wearing my mask indoors.

I got COVID Omicron already, but I still have a persistent cough about a month later. I figure I'm not spreading COVID but it's still more sanitary to wear a mask.

It's funny to me when white people (it's only ever white people who do this, too, never got this from a person of colour) try to convince me to take it off.

Had this one Karen tell me "you know that's only 47% effective" or some bullshit number, told me I should "YouTube it" (he was maybe an old Gen X but probably a Boomer), and looked dumbfounded when I just nodded at him without saying anything else.

Like, even if it *is* only 47% effective, that's 47% MORE effective than not wearing a mask.

It was the dumbest argument.

Plus I don't have to worry about what expression I have. And I don't show my face to cameras. And there's still an ongoing pandemic of COVID, and I don't want to catch a worse variant.

Being practical about personal safety in an ongoing pandemic is just... I don't know... The minimum of being smart.

If I'm outdoors or with my "cohort", I'll take it off. I'll take it off while sitting at a restaurant and eating. But it's easy to increase the safety of myself and those around me by wearing a mask.

Again, kinda a no brainer. But being considerate with minimal effort is kinda my jam.

Seriously, YOU are pretty brainless.

There is almost zero benefit to masks, a highly effective concentrator of vectors of illness emerging from your mouth.

Wearing masks is for those who hate communication with other human beings, since an enormous amount of communication is non-verbal, much of which comes from facial expressions, which cannot be observed on the mask wearers.

There is nothing less edifying than hearing self-righteous ignorami trashing those who bother to be skeptical, bother to educate themselves and bother to start from the assumption that the Government, the Deep State, is not there to protect us, it is there to screw us over.

You no doubt believe uncritically in vaccines, despite the globally conclusive evidence that spending 1% of that wasted on vaccines treating the Covid19 sick with off-patent, low cost, safe drugs like Ivermectin, budesonide, hydroxychloroquine, Vitamin D etc etc, would have obviated the need for lockdowns, have caused fewer to die and would not have trashed Western economies in their entirety.

If you would educate yourself to realise that this is the biggest heist in humankind, you might be starting the journey out of childhood into adulthood.

COVID has now been downgraded to be no more dangerous than the flu. So masks are pretty pointless considering they have had vaccines since November 2020 (not that they're fully safe or anything). Besides, it was never about the masks, anyway. It was about control. How TF do some brainless, ignorant sheep think a $2 mask from Walgreens is going to stop a pandemic from spreading. They are about as effective as washing your hands an extra three seconds, and do not need to be enforced by government law.

And no, I don't even agree with many of the points 888theGreat, nor am I a Republican. I can just smell bullsh*t when it's in the room. When you have limited information, combined with conflicting information and a conflict of interest (Fauci being exposed as the lying scumbag he always was), then no f*cking sh*t people are going to be hesitant and not just bow and obey.

But yeah, some people would rather not sacrifice freedom for some BS illusion of "safety" and THEY'RE the "idiots." And not, you know, the sheep who do what they're told from Big Pharma and corrupt politicians getting paid from all this BS. MAKES SENSE TO ME! 🤡

Because the don't do anything! Why is that so hard to understand? What's keeping the germ from getting in you eyes or going through your skin?

If people ACTUALLY give such a major shit about wearing them, why is that anywhere they INSIST you wear one, most of the people that DO never cover their nose, or it keeps falling down past their mouth or they just use it as a chin strap and nobody says shit about it?

On top of everything else, why can't any of you just go get one of the damn cures?

The whole point of masks is not to protect yourself but to protect other people. So your not breathing on them. If it's just you wearing a mask and nobody else is your mask is practically worthless.

If I'm sick, I'm going to stay home and not get others sick. If I'm not sick, I'm going outside, to work, etc. without a stupid mask on because I don't want that damned thing on my face and because I'm not a coward. That's my choice. Most masks people wear are cheap shitty masks that don't really protect them or others, and it's just to make themselves and others feel good. I don't give a shit how other people feel about me not wearing a mask. Because people are still catching it wearing a mask or not. I caught it twice and wear mask at work everyday. Plus after 2 years of wearing a mask, you get sick of slowly suffocating yourself for 8 hours or more. Half the time I feel Iike in hyperventilating because of it. I hope this doesn't become a permanent thing and that people will just wear one when they are really sick.

Probably because of the sense of tyranny that now comes with it. A POTUS or governor might have latitude in a unknown emergency, but now we know what we have. We also have local officials making rules that even the CDC or the state says are unwarranted. In California there are guidelines, yet the non-medical doctor in charge of Los Angeles County's Health decided that her word is law, despite the doctors who are running the local hospitals publicly stating that it is unnecessary.

Last I checked, we have had an entire season of baseball, along with other sports, we had full capacity stadiums last year for football, hockey, basketball with no major outbreaks that were PROMISED by Lord Fauci. It's simple, if you're compromised, wear a mask or stay out of crowds. It's not spread at a noticeable high rate among the healthy.
