I don't get it... I work 20 days on with 8 days off and take home about $13000.00 for the 20 days of work. Yet I look around and see so many people suffering with paying rent/food etc... Is it the times we live in?
Look at people on social security. Elderly, vets, etc. Say they get $900 a month.
Last four years food costs have gone up $200 extra on their monthly grocery lists, yet the gov only increases $20, on a good a year.
I know people who now treat fruit like condiments. Luxury items they no longer buy. This will soon turn into population control from malnourishment.
Be grateful you can work.

Average Americans are only making around 50k a year. This is no longer enough to sustain comfortably. The line is now closer to 100k.
For many reasons. Some of it of thier own making some of it not. I don't have it that bad off either. I'm on pace to make about 80k this year. But it's been a real good year for me. This is not my average. But because it's been a good year I save for years when it much leaner times. Not every person does that. Some people live for every day. And they pay for it when the lean times come.
Prices for everything rise higher and higher, everything gets more and more expensive, the only thing that stays the same for decades are the wages of the average worker.
