In 1996, the Republicans had to come up with a Presidential candidate to beat the smoothest, huggingest, slickest-talking President in decades, and came up with: Bob Dole, a cranky old man who always sounded like he suspected you of stealing his newspaper.

Twenty years later, the Democrats had to come up with a Presidential candidate to beat an incumbent who'd ridden the coattails of public resentment of establishment politicians who were completely out of touch with reality, and came up with: Joe Biden, who's been in office continuously since 1972, and is either terrified or morally outraged by basic, fundamental aspects of democracy, like due process and meritocracy.

I wouldn't have thought it possible, but compared to the one who should have been shot for treason decades ago, Trump *IS* the "good guy".

Its harder still to trust anything we are told by democrats who try to tell us a president actually choose to steal "classified information" he could have declassify and taken at a whim by the Constitutional nature of his office.

Its impossible for any president to ever be legitimately be guilty of the crime you have accused Trump of anyway.

You have just given all future presidents a solid personal security reason to resist giving up power to an enemy after an ugly campaign. If Democrats were really concerned about January 6 being anything more than a protest.

The problem with the analysis is that he took the documents while he was POTUS, and as POTUS had, according to several decisions of the SCOTUS, the constitutional right to declassify anything he wanted in any manner he chose. Kash Patel is on record as saying that Trump had a standing order that anything he took was declassified. As stupid as that might sound, that means the DOJ is in the unenviable position of having to prove the negative.

As for being a "good guy" in politics... is there such a thing? I mean, Joe "Sniffer of Little Girls" Biden is kind of a jerk once you get past the facade. "Dog Faced Pony Soldier" "You're full of sh*t" and the such.

He did not steal anything. He had no classified documents and committed no crime. This is a thinly veiled attempt to deny the former president from his Constitutioal right to run again in 2024. Most of the people he campaigned for have won their primaries and most likely will win the general election
