I think it hints at a much bigger problem, the fact too many people at the top get there because of networking and the ability to use bullshit sound bites to hide the fact they've no substance or ability to do the actual job. As they say shit floats to the top.

Where Truss and so many women fuck up is they think they have to act tougher than men to prove a point. Truss came in promising to be the next Thatcher and make tough decisions. Which translates as I'm going to make everyone unemployed but rich Londoners richer. When people are struggling they don't want to hear a pm say she's going to make tough choices.
We need someone who'll keep the lights on this winter, bring prices down and will be able to act if Russia declares war. At the moment with politicians it's like listening to a 5-year-old tell you they're the world's best astronaut.

Considering how many PMs the British have had lately, I doubt anyone can make any assumptions about leadership from her resignation. Don't be silly. There have been many female CEO's and prime ministers who have managed to steer the ship.

The performance problem is more to do with Tory, Trump and other right leaning political demagoguery. They rely too much on the emotional and superficial, providing very little substance or reality. This is why they fuck up more than fix up.

But worse than that, they lead like a cult figure, and cause a lot of problems further down the line when they are removed. We see that with Trump, and Boris in that their followers are as much a pain in the ass as they are.

But Truss and her followers may still poison the wells yet.

No. I think the UK is going through their own difficult trials, having had 4 different PMs in just 10 years. That is a major indication of some serious failures in their power structure to keep changing hands like that.

But I will say that since Tony Blair, something is going on in the British gov that is making people step down like that. I hate to sound like a "conspiracy theorist," but there must be some kind of threats or pressure from someone or a group of people to make these leaders just throw in the towel after a couple of years.

I dont think that is the case and is pretty standard. Boris was in for 3 years, Threasa May got 3 years, David Cameron got 6 years but the major thing is that its the party in power who elects the PM which thd permission of the head of state not the people. The same party had been in power for 12 years which is triple that of the norm here in thd US which shifts every 4-8 years. Tony Blair only got 10 years and labour party was ultimately only in power for 13 years so its possible that the conservative government is just on the way out after 12-13 years in power. Previous to Tony Blair the Conservatives were in power for 18 years.
There is no conspiracy as to what is making these ptime ministers step down. The party is elected by the people and the party elects members of Parliament who the feel is best to lead the party and with the permission of the head of state the leader of the biggest party is invited to form a government. But if that prime minister does not have the backing of their party as is the case of Liz Truss they have to stand down, its not a case of them fighting it out, they can fight it out all they want and it won't change anything because the party elects a new leader whether they like it or not.

@USLegionary If this is true, then it's a pretty fucked up political system they have where someone is constantly getting kicked out based on party majority shifts. We have the same thing in the U. S. with the House and Senate, but these offices aren't that unstable, and mid-term elections don't result in kicking out presidents after a few years.

However, I wouldn't COMPLETELY rule out some kind of hands behind the scenes seeing as although they have PMs, they also have a royal family at the top. The U. S. has none.
