Are men really intimidated by women and their level of education?

I told a guy once that I had my masters degree and he said to me that it was intimidating. Is that really true for most men? Or do you guys feel the opposite?

Personally, I'm an educated dude myself [UCSB alum class of 2008 :) ], so I absolutely don't find an intelligent woman intimidating. In fact I find a brainy woman sexy.

In fact, overall ditziness is my #1 turnoff. She needs to stimulate me mentally, or there's no chance for me to be with her, cauz I'll be bored out of mind.

The only reason I can see most men being intimidated by you, is because all that pick-up-artist nonsense (and GUYS that use this stuff talk about women "playing games"...amh) is less likely to be effective.

So your typical "players", "douchebags", "a**holes", whatever term you use for them...see you as a dead prospect.

REAL men love an intelligent woman.

In fact I had a crush on my history professor. She was a British readhead and she was in her 40s, and I was so insanely attracted to her. I strongly felt she was attracted to me too, but I didn't wanna get in trouble with the school so I surpressed my perverted urges. :)

to a degree it depends on the guy. some might be comfortable with it because they may be as smart or educated as she. others may fell slightly uncomfortable because in some areas they if in convo with her may come off as being ignorant (LOL an no guy trying to impress a girl ) wants to feel inferior to the girls knowledge on subjects. and other guys who may not be as smart may really be intemidated by her because they'll feel as though she would show them up how dumb they are at any given moment.

if you don't want to scare off a guy via a possible intimediation dumb down some and don't brag on the masters degree , until you get to know the guy well enough that he'd be comfortable around you after realizing that you are smart or educated. there are guys that appreciate smart women but find out first if they are smart as well then it might not be such a factor to the guy.

For some fellas it might be a little intimidating but for most it wouldn't be a problem, if a girl I liked was highly qualified it'd be better and I think I'd like her more because of her intelligence rather than choosing someone who has the IQ of a sponge, not that that's awfully bad but I'm just trying to make a point lol :)

No, at least I'm not. I'm usually impressed if a girl's really well educated. Though granted I've met some very well educated idiots too so it doesn't always mean everything, but it's certainly an indication of being halfway intelligent. If anything, it's a point in your favour from me.

To me its not intimidating, its a positive thing and the impression I get instantly is that this might be a quality girl with some class. Its a big plus, imo. It has nothing to do with earning potential, I wouldn't feel bad about how much she makes.
