Actually, there is a criminal dimension to the border crisis. Illegal drugs, child prostitution, human trafficking and of course the surge in human smuggling that has resulted in the death of well over 1000 men, women and children over the last year are but a few of the examples.

Of course, these problems will continue come what may. However, the extent and dimension of the problems have increased, in some cases dramatically, because people now have an incentive to attempt to cross the border in that the current policy is that if you make it across the line, you get to stay in the country.

This is a case of throwing gasoline on a fire. People are willing to take greater risks because the rewards are proportionately greater. Break the law and pay no penalty. This also then facilitating the breaking of other laws as the criminal element seeks to exploit the desperation and suffering of those trying to get across the border.

Not to mention that a number of people on the Homeland Security Department's "terrorist watch list" have been caught during the current "crisis." This begging the question of how many people on the terrorist watch list have not been caught. This problem aggravated by the fact that the surge in immigrants to the border has over burdened border security forces. This making it easier for those trained in evasion tactics - as, for obvious reasons, some terrorist elements are - to escape detection.

To be sure, in contemporary American media, the word "crisis" is flung about less to define a situation than for dramatic effect to get attention. There is, to be sure, an element of that in describing the border situation.

At its' root, the border issue is a problem. However, the changes in policy enacted by President Biden since he took office have given the border problem a crisis dimension. A certain urgency that has created a price to be paid in due course. That price to be paid in an upsurge in crime, dead immigrants, abandoned children, an intensification of America's drug problem and much else besides.

The border it begins. Stop it there, and you alleviate many of the problems.

Best to recall that not every problem has a solution. Most are just difficulties that you must manage as best you can. In this case, the problem, as I noted above, has taken on crisis dimensions because the problem has been poorly managed - or not managed at all.

A good example of part of the crisis is that a mere 50 ilegal immigrants were bused up to Martha's vineyard and rather than find them somewhere to live, work and go to school they locked them up in a church under police guard and had the national guard escort them to the next town within 48 hours. Imagine this is the scene in very poor boarder areas everyday. They were quick to virtue signal about it up in Martha's vineyard but couldn't put any of them up for a single night in the thousands of empty hotel rooms, b&bs and holiday homes.

I think ultimately we as a country are going to have to get serious about ilegal immigration and decide that either we secure the boarder and enforce existing immigration laws or northern states are going to have to start accommodating their fair share of ilegals in their so called sanctuary states, cities and towns. At the end of the day we can't accommodate the entirety of of South and central America emptying into the United States.

The crisis us that we have nowhere for these people and the more we allow in the more that are encouraged to come.

There is a lot of different problems associated with illegal immigration

Such as the housing crisis, not enough places to live as it is and immigrants are causing a major crisis with cost of living, housing and then the libs don't want us to build more houses cause we need to protect the environment. There isn't enough water and other resources to build more houses, they claim.

It is no fun when a citizen has to compete for a house or place to rent against an illegal, who probably stole someone's identity to even get a job.

Ever tried to get a job and the person tells you that if you want it you need to work under the table for less than minimum wage, cause he has a hundred illegals willing too... Yeah I think not, but I have been in that situation.

Of course to me the big crisis is crime, even ONE crime by one illegal is one too many.

If crime rate from illegals is so low then the federal government should back it up with money.

ONE BILLION dollars (tax free) given to any victim of a crime (or their family if they were killed) of any type where the perpetrator was an illegal.

After all if an illegal wasn't here, that crime never would of happened and it is the US governments job to protect us from foreign invaders.

This would apply even to simple things like a car accident, if the illegal was driving... that accident never would of happened had they not been here.
