Are you going to forget what the government and police did to people during Covid-19 lockdowns?

Are you going to forget what the government and police did to people during Covid-19 lockdowns?
No, but it's not the government and police did (well, not here in the US, anyway)- it's what the everyday people did. The blind, unthinking acceptance of every damn diktat that came down, the relentless vitriol directed at basic questioning and legitimate skepticism, the completely unearned atmosphere of terror and panic... It drove me halfway across the country; I don't know HOW I could forget it.
Back in my school days, I had wondered what could motivate people to turn on one another and do horrible genocidal things, like in the Holocaust and Rwandan and Yugoslavian genocides, so I made a personal, informal study of it. It's not the most cheerful of subjects- I'd suggest against doing the same yourself, unless you want to get REALLY depressed REALLY quickly- but an informative one; I thought I had a grasp on the basic aspects of human nature that made people vulnerable to that kind of mindset.
I didn't. I was STILL blindsided. The time may come when you reach the afterlife and wander into a bar, and find Stanley Millgram and a giant ape-man sitting at a table together, lamenting the sad state of humanity; that'll be me. Feel free to come over and say hi.
I will not forget, ever. The covidians are desperate to memory-hole their destruction.
