What are the traits in a person that makes him/her a good negotiator, according to you?

a good negotiator, to the definition (in my opinion):

Is someone who considers *all* the options, and can manage to bring the best option into play, for the other person (s)/ parties involved, and themselves into play, and that's brought out into the open to be discussed. Not only is the best option presented and ready to be put into play, but it's advertised well. The negotiator is persuasive and trustworthy.

What I would add, aside from the definition: Is honesty. Good morals/ ethics. Striving for the best outcome interest of the belief/ idea they desire/ strive for.

So I shared what makes a good negotiator is, in skill and quality, and a good negotiator with emphasis on the 'good.' A good negotiator is first a good person, then good in whatever they do/ choose.

Three sentences that display vision, reasons/sources for salary or purchase price, and a thorough knowledge or understanding of the in/outs.
Like the realities of apartment purchases, rehab updates, probability of doubling Rents in first year etc…

Like supply change for a Halliburton or Pfizer requires an interrelated knowledge of product (Gene Therapy/science), functions of stages of supply chain, SAP, spreadsheets, government demands, Vac and Abortion plant visitor, etc)

Diamond headed drill bits (millions), rigs, people and safety to and fro rigs, government regs, likelihood of Muslim bombs 💣 or Russia interferences etc..

INFORMATION and APPLICATIONS make a successful, calm, pleasing demeanor Negotiator that would OBVIOUSLY work well in TEAM….

There are no circumstances provided below question so I was guessing. You have shown me that you are not likely of the correct mindset to be a good negotiator if you don't see the relation between the subjects above and information as the strength of negotiation. Those above are items to think about given the Subject... know everything about Everything. "I know what i am getting into" goes a long way if this is a job.

There's 100s of people qualified... you are not Special... nor does anything you have make you better than any other one in anything. Whether that is Task or Skill set etc. It always comes down to money and the "extra little things". "If you don't like it take a hike and get another job"... attitude.

One is rarely in a position of Power unless you are the Owner of whatever or HR or the Director of Operations or VP making the decision.
