This is a bogus study based on their "estimates of the cost of crime", which is a meaningless basis of comparison.

When you actually compare stats that can be directly and objectively compared, such as, oh, the RATE of crime or of violent crime (the way crime has been judged for 150 years), it's very easy to show that all of the top 15 cities are and have been Democrat controlled and most are in blue states. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans, Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, and NYC are all on the list.

Look at the city government in those cities. For example, most of Illinois is red, but Chicago is deep blue. Crime is local, because crime policies are largely local. How many of those cities have red governments, or even governments that are a fairly even split?

According to your reasoning the highest crime rates should be in blue states with lots of dem controlled cities like CA, NY, MA, and VT. Yet those blue states with lots of dem controlled cities have lower crime rates than large cities in red states.

Below is the total crime rate for major dem controlled cities in CA for example. Why aren’t these in the top ranks? They should be according to your reasoning.

I remember when Seattle was being burned to the ground and President Trump offered to send National Guard troops to resore order and prevent any more property damage and casualties.
