Nobody over the age of 18 has earned the right to vote, it’s a RIGHT, we don’t earn rights we are born with them! The way western society is headed, you will not even have a working society to live in. The trend is towards a lot of people focusing only on self-gratification which leads to a lot of issues. Everyone should have to pass a "citizenship test" to be able to vote. We have immigrants who know more about the US than people born here. It's sad. Also, I don't see why Walker decided that anyone under 32 hasn't earned the right. What happened that allowed those born in 1990 to vote, while not everyone was born after it? What happened to earn them the right to vote? My cousin was born on January 2, 1991. I highly doubt that someone born on December 31, 1990, has earned the right more than someone born 2 days later.

No. I wouldn't vote for a celebrity or athlete for political office unless they have notoriety because of politics. So I would vote for someone who has notoriety like Hillary Clinton because her fame comes from politics, not a TV show or playing professional sports. I wouldn't vote for Colin Kaepernick, because while we can say that kneeling was a political statement (which it would be, except sometimes soldiers are supposed to kneel to the flag), he's known for doing that while being an athlete, which means his athletics made him famous.

as for the question, doesn't matter. It is a right, no one has to earn a right. Be it to vote or own a gun, it is a given. We need less restrictions on both, and I think they should be tied together.
Get a voter ID card and it can be used to buy a gun. After all if the background check to determine someone is legal to vote is good enough, to show they are legal then it should work for both.

Let's take it a step further and use guns as an example. People that think we shouldn't go all out and ban them believe the stricter things such as background checks, passing a firearms test, registering a firearm on a document for public eye to see, buy a license for each type, pass a mental health test too. At what point does it get excessive or ridiculous? Furthermore, it would have to be put in the hands of a professional for mental health for anyone seeking a firearm. What's to say they aren't biased in how they evaluate someone by saying because they want a gun at all they are mentally unfit? Much less which mental illness will be considered a pass and which one will be a fail? That's what I am getting at.
Better to use a vote than to waste it, even if it is a write in. To go along with that, boomers aren't the only ones checking a box. You believe all 18 year olds that can vote off the bat know everything regarding politics as well? They don't. People vote on who aligns with what they want or to keep someone they hate out-of a position, that is the way it has always been.

Competency test for voting would and sense across the board for those that wish to vote. Everyone should do it and take the same test to determine whether they can vote or not. If you also know your history you would realize the voting age had been lowered throughout the years too. It went down to 18 during the Vietnam era because the logic was if they could die for their country at 18 then they should be able to vote at 18 too.

because it creates an unneeded barrier for people to vote. and i can guarantee those with an agenda will use these as a way to suppress certain members of the populations vote as has been historical precedent in our country since the old days. what i cited was not at all an extreme example as you put it, but very commonly used back in the jim crow era. there are people today attempting to put more barriers up for voting that do mirror those old days.
simply being age 18 should be the only requirement to vote. anything more than that and you are suppressing peoples votes whether you intend to or not.
