If you were a police officer, what non-violent tactics would you use to ensure compliance?

In my local news, it says the police are now required to use de-escalation tactics until a suspect voluntarily complies with their wishes.

Say whaaaatttt? You read that correctly. Except under special circumstances, the officers cannot use physical for to get you to comply.

Sounds like a tough job, and I have no idea how I would make people volunteer to take a ride in my car to jail. I was thinking I might keep a buck of Kentucky Fried Chicken in the back seat or some hot, scantily-dressed white girls.

It works in the UK. Most criminal arrested respond with "It's a fair cop gov, I'll come quietly."

Just tell them how it's gonna work. If they don't comply, that's probably a charge, and will only escalate things. Why escalate things? Why make it any worse than it already is? That's kinda dumb.
