In regards to illegal immigration, is there anybody here who notices the effects of it in their local communities? Do you know any migrant personally?

Whether it be that you are living in a country people illegally immigrate to or illegally immigrate from, have you noticed the effects of said movements of people in your community?

I know in Europe (Italy especially) they get a bunch of Africans riding on migrant boats across the Mediterranean.

Here in the US there’s obviously a lot of border crossings as well.

But then of course the other side of the coin is the effects it has on local communities.

I was reading about migration from Brazil and apparently for this one town in particular a lot of their nicer houses built over recent years were financed by people who spent time working in the US and migration had become so common that in this other town they decided to build a statue commemorating the people who have migrated for work in the US.

I would hate illegal immigrants. I am from Pakistan and I know how these imposters and criminal scum from my country reach Europe and give us Pakistanis a bad name.

My father went to Germany as a tourist and there he found that a lot of Pakistanis got political asylum and guess what happened. The one's his German friend introduced as asylum seekers from his town turned out they gave fake addresses in Pakistan and really fooled the Germans. It shocked my father even.

So, don't be merciful on these people they commit frauds back home , the majority of them and they will turn Europe into a third world as well.

Only allow people who are given personal warranty by a European descendant. Otherwise most of them are just plainly illegal entrants and should be retrived home.

They go to Europe, turn their wives and daughters to prostitute and even sell drugs on streets. Look not everyone is really a victim

Yes. The whole issue is heartbreaking. I live in a city where there is a sizable number of undocumented people and I know some personally. They are mostly good people seeking a better life and felt compelled to flee their home country and take their chances illegally. The problem is that many of them end up in shelters or on the streets because their employment opportunities are limited and turn to petty crime to survive and crime has an obvious cost to society. Jail budgets are strained. Food banks and charitable organizations can’t keep up, etc. Many had unrealistic expectations of how it would be when they got here. They had an idealized perception of America that doesn’t really exist. Those that find work typically work very hard and are reliable. They can be a tremendous asset to our country. It’s a shame our leadership can’t come together and fix our broken immigration system from top to bottom. Businesses everywhere here are looking for workers. We have people coming here who would gladly fill those jobs if we could make the legal immigration process less complicated and more timely. Most of us wouldn’t be here today if the current immigration process existed long ago. It’s not like the days when immigrants got off the boat at Ellis Island and were admitted in a few hours. We have the resources in this country to handle this much more efficiently if we chose to but it’s become a political football so we just wallow in the status quo.

And that’s the thing. I haven’t made my way around much but a lot of latin people seem to think America is like heaven. Even though countries like Norway and Switzerland are managing themselves a lot better. I wouldn’t say we’re the worst of anywhere but even still we do have problems of our own with crime, gun violence, drug addiction, education, healthcare and poverty.

Yes but they especially want France economy to become free market with no right for the worker and want to lower the wage, average wage is 12000 a years people cannot live on it so the states need to give welfare to nearly everyone it''s crazy and don't make sense but they refuse to pay more and prefer lowering the wage even more.

Yes, obviously there are illegal immigrants in Florida. I own a bit of agricultural acreage so obviously I see them regularly because there are various other farms in the area and there is tons of development throughout Florida so construction work is everywhere.

Since I work in schools in CA, I noticed that they have to hire extra employees for more intervention services dut to a lack of education performance and ELL intervention too. (English language learner)

Effectively, it costs the school more of their budget and disrupts the regular class flow for the rest of the students.

I don't notice it locally but I do notice it how it's seriously affecting my native country of the Dominican Republic.

DR is a small and still a developing country and can't possible carry the weight of millions of desperately poor and sick Haitians to accommodate them much less dealing with some of them that are criminals.

They all have to seriously go now.

You literally have no idea how bad it truly is. My uncle just recently came from DR and I asked him about how wide spread is the Haitian problem and he told me literally is jam packed throughout the whole country. 😕

When I was in university, they raised our tuition to cover classes for illegal immigrants. There was one Mexican girl in our community college who confessed to being an illegal immigrant, and some of my dad's co-workers are illegals
