I didn't answer the poll. You are looking for compromise and understanding where there is absolutely none. You are trying to apply logic where it is outlawed as a mode of thinking. And the thing is, this is not about dems vs repubs. This is about maga vs everyone else. Because anything that isn't maga. . . is libtard, democrat or communist. Maybe in Europe such a conversation could work.

It can't work in America.

So any conversation that begins with this assumption that maga could have empathy for those who don't share their beliefs (which are vague), their identity (which is restricted), and their values (that do not exist) cannot get off the ground. They simply do not have these concepts in their belief system. They don't negotiate. They do not compromise. Because they see nothing in other belief systems worth compromising with.

I understand why someone can disagree with me. I think people say things because they're completely stupid. Could that be dangerous yes. I just would shrug that off and laugh at their ignorance. To me I wouldn't feel dehumanized because I don't see any value in their opinion but I can see others feeling differently.
