I’d say (more for liberals broadly than Dems specifically) that they’re “tolerant of everything but intolerance itself.”

The issue is that most bigotry we see in life is completely unfounded, unwarranted, and unjustified. There are certain things in life that we should all agree upon, or at least agree on the principle, and maybe #1 on the list is to not have problems with how other people look or live their lives.

Barring anything insanely egregious, I feel like that shouldn’t be a legitimate point of contention. If you have a problem with accepting or being around people based on race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender, any of that…. that’s squarely a YOU-problem. And we can’t allow people like that to be anchors to the ship of social progress.

Those are primitive, unenlightened, and frankly, DUMB attitudes that we can’t be coddling in a decent modern society or creating environments where shit like that is in any way acceptable publicly. It’s a completely unnecessary roadblock that no one should have to deal with, and that’s worth fighting for on an individual level, and choking the oxygen out of socially. Not all ideas deserve to be given a soapbox, and I feel like acceptance of bigotry of any sort is maybe #1 on the list.

It didn't used to be that way. But my Democrat friends started going insane in 2016. It quickly came to the point where if I questioned anything or didn't agree with them even on one issue, I got branded as a brainwashed MAGA. To many people de-fund the police isn't the same thing as reform the police. De-fund the police you're really not reforming anything, just reducing the amount of money police gets. Reform the police includes things such as better training or hiring more police officers so resources aren't stretched resulting in police officers being over worked and stressed.
