Should I report this to the police or mind my own business?

There was a man in the street walking and screaming in a hysterical way like he is talking with someone but there was no one else outside! It was around 3:30 am. He kept throwing rocks on cars and then he was holding a knife with him. I recoded everything with my phone through the window while watching & hiding in the dark. I thought about reporting him but then I decided to mind my own business. I feel bad now because he might come back, kidnap a kid or even hurt someone and I knew all about it from the start. I’m still scared because of what I saw.

That's a situation that should be reported to authorities. He could hurt himself or others.

A few years ago, I was driving down a road in the early morning hours, on my way to the airport, when I came upon a man walking in the middle of the road. I called 911 (here in the US, that's how you reach police and authorities). I had to get to the airport so I didn't stop to see what happened, but I later learned (from friends I had been visiting) that the man was having a medical issue (not taking his meds) and the police got him the help he needed.

Well he was asking someone to leave him alone so he could go back to his wife and kids and live in peace but there was no one in the street but him :/

He sounds like he is probably mentally ill and should be evaluated for treatment on an involuntary basis. Yes, he could be dangerous to himself or others and calling he police would be an act of kindness.

just make sure to repeat that you have not seen any attacks, ask for a welfare check on a person... not an attacking situation

You should have called them immediately. The guy's psychotic and a danger to anyone he might run into. If that happens again, make sure you specify he's alone and you haven't seen him attack or hurt anyone, but he's potentially dangerous to himself and others.

Honey, you should report it!.. Its not because he is a threat, maybe he could be a mentally ill person , most probably a Schizophrenic in middle of a psychotic episode and in need of help, he wasn't throwing rocks at cars.. But throwing rocks at his hallucinations, had a knife to defend himself against imaginary ghosts that are attacking him..

He needs help, there is a probability he is not a threat but a victim!..

I honesty didn’t know what to do because it was first time seeing someone like that in my entire life and the whole situation was terrifying even when I was recording the video I was completely shaking. Afterwords I thought about calling the police or something.

I’d say it’s always ok to report soemthing to the cops. It’s actually more likely they won’t respond. But having a paper trail of that kind of behavior could help solve a future crime down the road.
