Probably, because all you have to do is say Hi to provoke a liberal. Democrats/liberals find literally 100% of anything a Republican/Conservatives do as provocative, even if their own president later on does the exact same thing or did it previously.

I could be wrong, but I think that a DeSantis presidency would help to calm people's nerves a bit, and I can imagine many saying, "Well, at least we didn't get Trump again". To be quite honest, I think that Trump should just simply retire. He had his moment in the sun, but it's time to move on from the old guard, the decrepit boomers who just continue to stuff things up.

Majority of Americans want a president who has similar policies in mind that Trump enacted, but without all the drama and tweeting. And I think DeSantis is the perfect candidate for that. Just look at his huge victory in re-election for governor. There's proof right there.

He's basically a more disciplined, more focused version of Trump. He has the controversial policies, but not the drama or baggage that Trump does. He does however handle himself and the media very well, though he also doesn't seem to have the energy and charisma that Trump does either.
