If your adult child thats 21 that still living with you want to get a gun to use for protection would you tell no?

I would not object to it, as I am a firearm owner myself and there are already firearms in the house. I'd push them to get the appropriate training and mindset to carry it safely on their person when legally able to do so though, as a firearm without training is like a car without insurance.

I got my conceal certificate and my dad said it ain't coming in the house then said why I need protection for anyways it ain't like someone coming after me.

Really? Odd that it's for his own daughter, as firearms do an amazing job of protecting women from physical and sexual assault. Surely he can't make sure you're safe every minute of every day, and by getting the tools and training you need you're taking your safety into your own hands. He could have legal reasons for resisiting a firearm on his property, as he may have a felony record. If they're merely personal though, you might just have to respect his wishes for the time being until you're financially able to do so. It's just incredibly odd to me that his objections to firearms are so strong he'd prefer his daughter not have every tool available to come home safe every night, at no risk or additional cost to his own lifestyle.

Unfortunately, its a lost cause. Only thing you could try is put a condition on him to move out and get off any parental support.
