I was summoned at a time I was living in the Hollywood Hills, and I called and told them I had no way of getting there because my car was not running (and at the moment I said that, it was in my garage and certainly not running). They suggested a bus but no buses ran to the area where I lived. They then suggested a cab and I replied that I would take one but they would need to pay for it.

This sort of thing went on for a while but they finally gave up. They have not bothered me since.

Yes I get called in every now and then. I actually find the process to be interesting. I like going in for jury duty but I don't really like actually being on a trial. Every time I've made it to the jury box for questioning, I've been accepted for the trial, because to date there hasn't been anything to exclude me. So I like it when I go in and I view the process, but they fill the jury before they get to my name... LOL

Yes. And I went once. How? I was summoned... i showed up late... girl said it was already over and "i still get paid". And after that... they needed me to register to go to jury duty... I didn't. Then I changed my name, and said to be a certified voter, I need to register. :1 Well... I'm not up for voting? Nor do I care what happens to who's on the stand.

And i've been living life just fine without them bothering me.

Yes, in what seems like an unfair abundance. I get summoned so often that I sometimes I have to tell them I recently served. I don't know why my name comes up so much, but it marvels my friends and family. I know people that have never received a summons.

Here's the crazy part... They never want me on the jury. Only once was I selected and then I was unelected and asked to leave the jury box. lol.

    It's a mystery!

@TrueConfection So you make it to the jury box and then after asking you questions, they excuse you? Sometimes it is because of the type of work that you do, or if you have anything in your background that would cause you to lean one way or the other. All of the times I've been on duty duty, I've seen a lot... LOL

@ArrowheadSW Yes. I only made it to the box once and the defense was allowed to deselect 2 jurors. I was the first. 😂

I'm always hoping and praying I don't get selected. That time I was still glad I was able to leave, but I felt a little rejected.

@TrueConfection Yeah I like going in for jury duty, but I don't necessarily like being put on a trial. I like it when they fill the jury before they get to my name because there never has been any reason to exclude me in the past. In the future, there might be a reason why I can't set aside my own views in order to be a fair juror, but that hasn't happened yet. The last time I went in, they pre-screened 180 jurors and I made it down to around the final 15. I was very glad when all of the lawyers accepted the jury. I didn't want to be on that one because it was going to be a long one. LOL

@ArrowheadSW I have no idea what they know about me that makes them say, "Definitely not her." 😈

Once. But I was able to get out of it because I was going to school at the time.

Every state compiles jury lists by different means. In my state they do it by voter and DMV registration. If you don't vote and only use mass transit you'll never be selected.

Yes, but told them according to my disabilities, I couldn't do it. My cousin was summoned for Jury Duty, but he told them that he believed in the death penalty, so they discharged him for Jury Duty.

Yeah, but it was while I was working on my bachelor's degree in nursing so I was excused from it.

Three times! I just asked them for a closer courthouse and they responded by telling me they didn't need me after all.

90% of trials are deals. So you’ll prob be home by 10am. Take the rest of the day. But get your employer their paperwork!
