How did It go?

Today is a happy day for me and my sister because we got acquitted from some white-collar charges from 2020, alongside our cousin and my father (who died last year so of course his case got thrown out).

Not the first nor the last challenge people like us challenge, but it's always heartwarming to see that justice prevails at least in our country.

But as an aside, I have to admit it to be disheartening to be always on trial for something just because we live in a society that allows it. As if it's normal for a 25 years old to have stood three trials.

Yeah... I got jumped by six black dudes and one Mexican dude for being white. They beat the shit out of me and I never spoke to any of them once. I never did anything. the biggest guy just came up and started fighting and I got hit in the back of the head with a 40oz bottle. They did the beat down while I was just laying there and couldn't move my body.

So court comes into play. I identify the guy... and then all of a sudden... I'm on trial. Apparently, I started it all because I'm fucking white. It was racial discrimination and that's how I forced these black people to jump me. I have no idea when race politics came into play but it did. Somehow I was a white nationalist even though my wife is Asian and my friend's girlfriend was Asian and my friend is straight-up Mexican.

No... a group of black dudes saw what they thought was two white dudes with hawt Asian chick and started a fight... not complicated.

Two of those guys are in prison for life now... so thank me later if you manage to walk two blocks down the street without getting jumped sometime.. Still, though, I got pressed for being racist and shit just because I'm fucking white! What the fuck is wrong with you people? Asian wife that is half black... Mexican friend with his Asian girlfriend... we look fucking racist or something? WTF? How am I a white supreme? Just how? I'm doing a really bad job if I am.

Remember I said nothing to them... they ran up and just did it. I found out their real reasons by smoking out 4 brothers in a van later on. They were just fucking racist man. ... yeah I grew pot in secret so I had bags of the shit. I don't smoke though... I just grow. Realize I'm just as dirty as any other race or person. I tracked them down and had a AR-15 next to me and I was about to just end them all... I stopped myself and let the court do its thing.

In my teens 3 of us walked to a corner store. One of my friends wore thick glasses that always broke or the lens fell out. While the friend with glasses waited outside some wannabe skinhead older kid walking by decided to pick on him.

Since he was usually picked on for his glasses his parents put him into boxing. Something the skinhead bully soon discovered as he got knocked the fuck out.

We came out of the store to see glasses standing there while older skinhead tried with jelly legs to stand up. Then he pulled a knife from his flight jacket and lunged at glasses.

We had our bikes so I threw mine at the guy and as he fell our other friend kicked his hand to drop the knife then we kicked the shit out if him. Store worker called the cops and provided her account.

We ended up in court. Turns out the skinhead was a rich brat whose Dad was a city counsellor. The bully claimed we jumped him and he tried defending himself with the knife. Even with other witnesses, a customer at store the worker and our own.

The judge yelled at us and said we were liars and gave us probation saying we couldn’t be near each other for a period of 6 months. As we left the courtroom the skinhead laughed at us. That was my introduction to the broken legal system.

Never been a defendant but I've memories of being interviewed in a big room, with mirrors and video cameras since I was to young to be in a trial and facing my abuser. Him escaping the country, the low sentencing, facing him again on the street - knowing I got him sentenced and caused him to lose his family made it so that I never reported another abuse/rape, which I today regret.

Never, but I watched both my parents get sentenced and put in jail at different times...
Whenever I did criminal activity as a teen I made sure to never get caught... but now being older I don't really do anything bad because I believe in karma.

I have tried several cases as an attorney, but have never been tried as a defendant in a civil or criminal case.

Uhm not really.. I just had to sit in front as a 6 yr old kid, while my mom had to face my father... I just remember the psychologist who was in a separate room with me beforehand and my mom showing up to court with her full arm bleeding (she forgot important papers inside the apartment and the keys, so she broke the window to get the papers and cut her whole ass arm) but I can't recall any more details

Not for any criminal charges, but I've been in civil court (lawsuit and small claims) a few times. I was selected for jury duty once; I showed up as did the others, but the case was settled at the last minute so I didn't sit through a trial. The county paid me $10 for showing up though.

1. Paperwork for us selling our car still hadn't cleared at the state licensing center, so when the new owner earned a ticket, that ticket got sent to me. Ticked that I had to take a day to show up to defend myself from the bureaucracy.

2. In pro se court, we had to sue for damages of a bad repair job, so I wasn't on trial, but the car repair place WAS.
