It is mainly cause some people believe “genders” really exists. And what I mean with that is that they put together certain traits and behaviours etc… with a certain sex.
So when they think about a man they doesn’t just think it is a person with a ding-dong in his pants but they also think about how he is as a person as being a man and not a woman etc…

So the people that identify as non-binary doesn’t fit into these pictures of what a man or woman is and therefore they don’t feel comfortable being referred to as for example he or she.

I have always had troubles understanding this myself since in my mind the words man, he, his, him, guy etc… refers to a person with a penis and woman, she, her, gal etc… refers to a person with a vagina. But it doesn’t tell me more than that. I put no expectations about a person from what sex they are. A person is a person.
If u ask me, yes I am a man cause I have a ding-dong… but do I fit peoples pictures of what a man is? No, probably not 100%… probably somewhere around 50-60%.
I’m just as confortable with being called he, she, it, they, banana, cloud, turd… whatever floats your boat.

I have all respect for non-binary people and their struggles and their rights etc… but I just don’t understand it. To me non-binary people comes of as closed minded since they obviously pairs the word “he” with a personality and other stuff and not just a body.

Mostly a distaste for social gender norms manifesting in a very stupid way (if you're a man who doesn't act like other men do, that means your actions are different, not your gender; cause and effect haven't gone away) coupled with a desire for attention and regard for being "special". Sometimes actual gender dysphoria, but that's much less common.

only a tiny minority actually suffers from gender dysphoria or intersexuality.

well those with these issues that the majority is appealing to do exist. but somene who genuinely is an intersex person with "unclear genitalia", will not be all up in your face and demand you call them "they/them". these people normally have understanding and empathy for "normal" people not getting it. it's the narcissist type people who are all up in your face demanding pronoun use.

Cause they don't fit into the "binary" of man and woman. They're not "a man" or "a woman." So, non-binary.

I think it's an umbrella term so the specifics depend on other shit. But yeah. Just not in the gender binary.

Maybe invalid ideas about what those roles involve? A man doesn't have to be a hunter and a woman doesn't have to be a housekeeper. A man doesn't have to dominate a relationship, a woman doesn't have to be submissive. A man doesn't have to be brittle, and a woman doesn't have to be soft. If you don't understand that, maybe you don't identify with either.

Or you just don't fancy romance or sex with any person. That's a valid choice, too.

Some people don’t identify as always being a guy or a girl; like they don’t want to be forced to be on either end of the gender spectrum and pressured to do only male/female things

Since we lost paradise we always feel misplaced. Some think that their sex/gender is the problem of that. Others find God and the hole in their hearts are filled with God's presence.
