Florida is like my shining example of how NOT to do it, lmao. People need to understand that society is willful forfeiture of freedom, it can’t work any other way. Freedom only works in the wild, so unless we want to go feral, you have to make a lot of concessions for the benefit of the greater good. Humans are very stupid and even more selfish, so complete control is really the only way to manage them in a way that’s broadly beneficial for the species. It can’t just be this “well, there’s *kind of* a government, but basically we just do whatever the fuck makes our heart sing. I don’t believe any true “society” can co-exist with hard individualism. You’re trying to make ice cream that can be eaten on the sun, lmao, it’s just never going to happen, and certainly not at post-Industrial Revolution population numbers.

Florida just scares me, man. One of my good friends lives in the hick part of the state (most of it, minus South Florida, lmao), he’s a little small gay Jewish dude, so I worry about him down there. He has a beach condo in Daytona, and he sends me pictures of these huge beach gatherings of people with huge trucks and like 500 Trump and MAGA flags and shit…. I’m no fan of Trump, but even they were doing this for goddamn Abe Lincoln I’d be like “uhhhhh…..” Like that’s plain old weird. And most of them look like mouth breathers who never cared about politics until the brash, edgy rich guy they already knew as a wealthy celebrity ran for office and started saying openly ignorant shit that what already music to their ears, and trying to make it cool to do in the open.

Also, this dude is all about anti-“woke”, but left-wing “woke” and right-wing “woke” are completely different things, not that anyone in the right seems to comprehend that. They just know the bastardized term of “woke”, meaning “anything that makes white/straight/possibly-Christian/often-men uncomfortable to talk about or shines a light on their indecency and intolerance, like the Fox News definition of “woke.”

I don’t think anything makes me laugh as much as when people say “woke” in a negative context, because it just displays how impressionable that person is, they’re literally parroting conservative politicians or talking heads, or parroting other people they probably heard on the internet, who are parroting the aforementioned politicians and talking heads. It’s honestly embarrassing how these buzzwords and slogans catch fire overnight. My dad watches FoxNews, so I overhear it. THE VERY NEXT DAY, I can come on the internet or talk to people in person, and the word-for-word opinion of the Fox host the night before is coming out of their mouths as if it’s their own original thought.

I also thought DeSantis was reckless with the pandemic. You absolutely, positively CANNOT put economics over public health, you just can’t. I would much rather err on the side of caution to a fault than be reckless to a fault. I thought that was totally irresponsible and was largely driven by his desired public opinion for himself. He also was all pro-vaccine until it become fashionable with some to be anti-vax, then he totally changed his tune, he’s more low-key in his delivery than Trump but he’s every bit as performative.

DeSantis got the elderly people vaccinated first whil Biden was trying to give out vsccines according to race. In my moonbat state they put up a vaccine clinic in the black neighborhood because they were not getting enough black people vaccinated. The news crew showed up and there was hardly a POC in sight. Mostly white people were getting vaccinated because it was much less crowded.
When there were demonstrators blocking bridges and destroying property DeSantis said it was legal to run over anyone blocking a public way.. Problem solved.

No, in the screwed up state where I live there was a demonstration that blocked a major highway and caused a big traffic jam. An ambulance got stuck in the middle of it and the patient ended up dying because they couldn't get him to the hospital in time . That is what you call disgusting human behavior. People have the right to protest but they do not have the right to impede others who just want to live their lives.

Actually, my half brother lived in Venezuela for a while, someone had been hit by a car, subsequent cars just continued to drive over the corpse because it was a narrow street or alleyway or something. My brother got out to try to drag the body off to the side, and the Venezuelans with him all went nuts, because basically if you’re seen touching the body, you get blamed for the death, no questions asked. If you’re standing in the street blocking traffic, I’m not saying there can’t be any recourse, but the average human being is dumb as a box of dildos and is no one I would trust to make sound decisions about just about anything, so leaving discretion about killing someone simply for obstructing the street simply isn’t something I would ever in a million years trust John Q. It depends on a range of factors, but a fairer comparison would be to look at the numbers before he started, then now.

It's clear you cherry picked the data there, because you're likely a devout Leftist who cannot view your political opponents as anything but bad. Regardless, I digress.

Regarding education, I don't see this as the best indicator any governor is doing the best at his/ her job. The reason for this is that policy is largely set at the national level, and teachers unions control curriculum. This is why he had to pass the Stop Woke act, since he didn't have the influence to simply direct schools to do what he felt was best.

Let's get out of your feelings here- I'm actually not trying to argue with you.

First, let's acknowledge you cherry picked data, because you hold a certain viewpoint, and your question was NOT made in good faith. You're not asking if Desantis is a good leader, you're pointing out why you don't think he is and leaving it to others to accept (or debate you).

Secondly, anyone will agree that crime and education are important- it's not a dichotomy of important vs. non-important- it's a question of if (given the state he oversees) he is doing a good job. It's frivolous to pose such a rhetorical question as that (I'm guessing you prefer..."), because again, it's posing a false dichotomy, and begging the question. It's simply not in good faith to say, for example, "I'm guessing you prefer people to die?" when the question of vaccinations come up. Just an EXAMPLE. Few people actually want others to die, but not wanting people to die does not equate to a full acceptance of your viewpoint/ policy- which is exactly how you're posing it.

Lastly, try to open your mind a bit- you seem like a rabid ideologue who jumps at anyone who doesn't align/ agree with you on every issue. I can entertain the idea that liberals can arrive at their viewpoints in good faith, taking into consideration their priority of values- I don't know why more liberals can't entertain the idea that conservatives do the same.
