People that have babies from sperm donor is it really their real children?

I see a lot of couple claiming kids from sperm donor is their own real kids, I call that utterly bullshit, the baby didn't come out of you so therefor it isn't your real children

But there are some that dont claim that and know it isn't their real biological children

but why do a lot of couple that have kids from sperm donor think its their real own kids?

Ok I’ll explain. To make a baby you need 1 egg and 1 sperm. Typically women have eggs and men sperm. Some people have fertility issues, for example the man not having functioning sperm or any sperm at all. Sometimes people are carrying genetic diseases that they don’t want their children to inherit. In cases like these, donated sperm can be an option.

So let’s say Mary and John are a couple and they want a baby. They try for a year but Mary doesn’t get pregnant. They go to a fertility doctor that does a check up. It’s discovered John doesn’t have any functioning healthy sperm. The doctor suggest donated sperm could be the solution to their problem. They agree to this. So, the doctor inseminate Mary (places sperm in the uterus) during her ovulation with sperm from a donor. One of the sperm meets the egg that Mary releases during ovulation and an embryo is created. It attaches itself to the inside of Mary’s uterus and she’s now pregnant. The baby Mary is carrying is her own genetic biological child that came from her own egg and donor sperm. It’s just as much her own biological child as it would have been had it been John’s sperm that met the egg. John is not genetically the father to the child but he’s there from day one and is this child’s father and legal guardian from the day it’s born, as if the sperm came from him. It is his child that he had with his wife and watched being born. He could technically also be genetically related to the child. More on that in the next example.

Other examples of when donated sperm can come in to play is when a lesbian couple wants to have children because two women can not make a baby - neither of them have sperm. The children are the genetic biological kids of the woman who is carrying them. Her partner is legally the other parent and can even be genetically related to the child - if they used one of her male family members as a donor. For example Hannah & Julie are lesbians and want to try for kids. They decide Hannah is going to be the one to get pregnant so they’ll use her eggs. They ask Julie’s brother Jack to donate his sperm to them. He agrees. Hannah gets pregnant and she’s genetically/biologically the mother because it’s her egg and she’s pregnant and Julie is genetically the aunt because her brothers sperm helped make the babh, but legally she’s the (other) mother. This can also be done for straight couples, which means the husband while not being genetically the father could still be genetically related to the child if they use a male relative of his as donor. Now that’s probably not the most common thing to do, sperm banks are likely a more popular route but still. I’m just telling you that this is possible and people do this, it’s not that uncommon.

Another example is obviously a single woman who wants to have kids on her own, as a single mother. by choice. The child/ren she has with help of donated sperm is just as much her own biological kids as they would have been had she gotten pregnant by a boyfriend or husband. They’re absolutely her real biological and genetical children.

and what about a woman that can have kids at all? her boyfriend sperm is donated in another woman and that woman gets pregnant, so is not really the first woman real child due to fact that it didn't came out of here, u get what i'm saying?

Whether a husband or from a sperm bank, they are all sperm donors and it is her child if it is her egg.

I don't think you understand what a sperm donor is. The egg is usually from the woman and is fertilized with different sperm. So, biologically it is her child. There's no male who thinks a sperm donor child is biologically his, but absolutely the term "my children" applies to people who adopt in addition to biological children.
