Why are Americans obsessed with trans people?

Outside of the US trans people are seen as mental ill typically maybe Thailand is okay with them but even in Europe it’s not something people care about.

Those in power and influence (some in government, media, some in education) have some agenda. I'm not sure what their agenda is.

Some has gender identity issues. Some choose to live their life as the opposite of their biological truth. Fine, they change their names, clothes, medically try and look as much as the other sex as possible. Ok, they are free to do that.

The obsession is that they INSIST that everyone believe they are really the other sex. Acknowledge they are a "REAL" man or woman when they are not. It is a man who wants to live as a girl or a woman wanting to live as a man.

They demand all the rights of that sex such as being on the girls sports teams and to dominate the women or to be in their showers or changing rooms and trying oppression if people resist them invading women's privacy or infringing on their rights.

Instead of setting up trans sports or letting them change in a private bathroom they insist the society 100% gives them all the access and rights of someone of that sex.

Why are they obsessed with this and pushing is so, so hard? They obviously have an agenda but I'm not sure what their goal is. I mean, how else can you accept someone being furiously angry if people say men cannot have periods or babies?

I think it started when militant "trans" activists began invading every level of education and began punishing anyone who didn't comply with their agenda. Getting students suspended and professors fired if they voiced different opinions and refused to comply.

And when the government 1) began mandating that men who claim to be women must be treated as if they actually ARE women; 2) instituted a curriculum to indoctrinate school children; 3) legalized the mutilation of children's bodies.

Its the Republican new culture war. They need some minority group to become the enemy so that they can motivate their voters to support them and implement their fascist agendas. Historically they have tried to use all kinds of groups ranging from black people to gays to communists to atheists and even gamers. Now they just put their crosshairs on trans people because they are the easiest target.

It is politics for basic people and there are few people as basic as Americans.

Trans people have not done anything wrong or somehow justified being targeted. It is just that the right wing propaganda machine has picked them out as someone their own supporters will unite to hate against. They could have picked pretty much any random group as long as it is small and mostly powerless but they picked Trans and their strategy is to keep pushing Trans people as their enemy at least until the next American presidential election if not longer.

The US is trying to convince us that gender is a social construct which is the dumbest thing ever because there are many studies that prove that wrong and any attempt to prove it is a social construct has failed.

Our media has been constantly trying to tell us that gender dysphoria is a normal and common occurrence, it's not and never was and will never be. The worst part is that our media is completely aware if this. That's why we have many videos of school staff willingly documenting themselves treating kids as if they all suffer from this disorder. It's not right to do this to children.

In the US, we have vulnerable teenagers being exploited by sexual deviants and mothers with Munchausen by proxy syndrome. Plus a presidential administration that worships these mentally ill people for votes.

UK here. Trans isn't really an issue here. It's largely considered a lifestyle choice but only conservatives want to make it an issue in their culture wars. That's all they have now since they fucked the economy for everyone.

It used to be characterized as a mental diagnosis. Most kids, if left alone will resolve it with no intervention. If you are 25 and over and have not resolved it, start treatment to transfer.
