Thats true we don't learn everything from school but then however do u expect the wider public to learn about people that are neurodiverse I knew nothing about the subject until my baby brother was born and diagnosed as autistic

Not necessarily. I have 0 concept of why people enjoy children. I literally don't understand their thought process, even though it's been explained. I highly doubt you'd understand my malice, and we are both divergent. Just because we are human does not mean we will inherently be able to understand each other.

There's a difference between a cognitive understanding and actually understanding. What you mean by understanding what they say, indicates a cognitive understanding, a surface level grasp of concept. It's not actual understanding, which is what you intended to mean I wager.

Exactly as I say. Cognitive understanding, means you only understand things as a baseline concept. A surface understanding. For example, I have a surface level understanding of statistics. I can understand what its about, but I have 0 understanding of how it works and why. I have a deep understanding of topics such as philosophy, namely cosmicism, as I have researched it heavily for a long while.

So when you say that you can't relate but you understand what they say, that means you only understand it as a concept, and nothing deeper, because a deeper understanding necessitates some form of relating to the material or idea.
