Nobody's referring to women like that. The only reason to use those terms would be to refer to trans men, or to include them with cis women for medical discussion. Trans women aren't even involved. It's not meant to refer to any women as a generic term.
Its literally just a replacement for saying things like "women and men who can give birth, or have a uterus, or menstruate" which is awkward and long compared to just zooming in on the body part you're discussing. Ex: "only people who can get pregnant should have a say on abortion rights." Is that degrading to women? They're the ones who say it.
It's not degrading to call you a tonsil-haver for the purpose of discussing tonsillitis, which can effect both men and women, but not the men or women who don't have tonsils. Nobody is reducing you to just a pair of tonsils. It's just the easiest way to say it when they're not talking about just you. Same with "amputees." That's not degrading to call them since I'm talking about both men and woman who have had something amputated. It's just simplest.
