If a man is wearing women’s clothing then by definition he’s acting in a feminine way, which is the complete opposite of masculine.

@RagnarRedbeard No- that's assuming clothing being gendered is an inherent aspect of it, rather than the results of fashion. These things are mutable: high heels, for example, were originally MEN'S clothing, not women's.

Even if it WERE the case, however, "doing things associated with women" doesn't make you less of a man; at worst, it makes you a man who does some things associated with women.

Clothing is used to symbolise masculinity or femininity, that’s true. In Scotland men wear kilts which is considered masculine - but anywhere else that would be called a skirt which would be considered feminine. Pink used to be a man’s colour.

Still, people wear certain types of clothing to feel a certain type of way, based on what that type of clothing symbolises at that time. The fact that what they symbolise changes doesn’t really matter. The man in the dress and high heels is dressing that way because he wants to feel feminine, he didn’t just find his girlfriend’s clothes and throw them just because they were lying around like he would a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

I don't think people really have a right to do anything. Just claim to be a real man if you want to, or better yet, realize that the label is pointless and doesn't matter.
