Women wear "men's" clothes and nobody thinks that's sexual or inappropriate to wear in public or around kids. Women even wear women's clothes and most of the time that's not seen as inappropriate either. I don't even wear anything remotely "immodest" like short skirts or low cut or cropped tops. When I wear anything not connected between the legs, I wear shorts beneath it—and full leggings now that it's cold out. I dress the same or even more modestly than most men who wear men's clothes.
Why does just the fact that it's a clothing item marketed to women make some people think it's sexual if a man wears it? That makes no sense. There are clothes ACTUALLY marketed as sexual and erotic. There are clothes with cuss words and sexual images printed onto them. There's plenty of clothes that could be inappropriate to wear around someone else's child. But just a regular outfit that happens to be "women's"? That's dumb. I'm glad most people now know it's not sexual, the few who don't can be frustrating though.

Because their are enough people that treat it like a fetish that I assume convinces others it must be sexual
Yes but why do those people treat it like it must be a fetish? There's plenty of clothes fetishes that people can have, but clearly that doesn't mean everyone who wears tall socks or panty hose or anything leather does it because of a fetish. There's people who have bare foot fetishes, but nobody thinks going barefoot is a sexual or inappropriate thing to do in general. I don't understand why some people can't be consistent with that same logic.
