When you hear a Democrat say gun control that translates to gun confiscation. Look for them to try a national gun registry , This will allow for easier gun confiscation. We already have gun control laws in place , so you now know what "Gun Control " means. Also would you register all your guns or risk time in prison?
Nobody seems to care in this country until it's your kid lying in a pool of blood. I have a friend whose parents were gunned down, and let me tell you, it's not something you ever want to go through. Register a gun doesn't mean take it away for mentally stable law abiding citizens, but we do need a way to legally take guns away from the people who are ACTUAL dangers to society so there is a way to potentially reduce the number of senseless deaths. If you need an example, all cars are registered in this country and we all have a drivers license to drive them. You get drunk behind the wheel, we take those things away. Fair? I think so.
THE MAJORITY of gun owners lock their guns up, go hunting/shooting, have a great day and that's all she wrote, but clearly ignoring the gun problem isn't working and since gun owners have yet to come up with a solution other than ignore the problem for another year or just stand there and tell us about their love of guns and some old law 1,000 years ago that had to do with war, not peace times, something else needs to be tried.

It is a law for everyone to register guns. Why do people keep talking about this. It's been federal and state law for over 40 years. And guess what? Criminals still don't register their guns!
Nope, I mean, what would the point be? Nothing positive would come out of registering weapons, only more liability, they tried passing a law down in New Orleans that would make people liable for their stolen guns if they're used in a crime. It only failed because they realized it might be bad to victimize, you know, victims more.
Also because most weapons down here go through private sales that aren't tracked in the first place rather than academy or large vendors that keep records and the whole ballistic thing many of the guns in the last 10 years or so have. Anyway, if the only paper that exists is a cash receipt, what's the incentive of putting it on paper? I see more incentives to not do so, as the unregistered weapons will spike in value, same with "stolen" registered weapons.
If I were still living in the US, I'd tell them to take their 'registry', fold it so it has sharp points, and stick it where the sun doesn't shine, without the aid of lubrication.
If the Democrats truly wanted to fight those who would commit violent acts using firearms then the ATF, FBI, DHS, would be going after the the criminals who use them as a matter of course, not the Law Abiding Firearms Owners.
But if they want to go after the Law Abiding Firearms Owners, they will in all probability find out why the 2nd Amendment was written and they may regret it.

Let's take the average suicide (because the NRA banned such studies on gun violence) and who are on average impacted by it. 6 are deeply impacted and 136 are impacted. These are first hand being families and friends to third hand being like hairdressers kids hearing about it with all the spectrums you think of
The CDC does consider suicide as a potential localized epidemic in society even though it's not a germ pathogen. I also believe similar epidemic happens with mass shootings.
I've seen gun nuts destroy their own guns when someone close to them is randomly killed in mass shootings. When are we one person away from knowing a loved one who suffered a loss to a mass shootings? What should we do about it? Guns are tools of the trade to mase shootings and suicide and what's a trade without the tools?
I do fundamentally believe gun experts are the best ones to regulate themselves but are too prideful (the original sin) of the word "rights". They should focus on responsibility. While you have the right to should be the first step in a never ending student of learning responsibility.
We get this right we might be like Switzerland who has more guns then America without the gun violence. Because it's a duty beyond anything else and duty comes with responsibility.
Any measure that reduces the amount of guns in the wonderful US of A , is a great thing , the power wielded by groups like the NRA are a complete joke , the gun lobby should have never been allowed such power , I'm no Democrat , but firearm control is a must..
But , as usual nothing will happen , till the next mass shooting when people will buy more and the cycle continues , under this ludicrous ideal of bearing arms against a government. What a joke to any rational thinker.
It's telling that you don't think a Republican could ever agree to do things that a huge majority of the electorate want. I'm not talking about registering guns, but they won't even implement backgroud checks, and can you imagine them funding mental health?
Patriots have millions of unregistered, unknown fire-arms hidden for The Day, which is coming.
My red flag laws dictate that since the government has displayed psychopathic behavior, it can not be trusted to have access to my guns.
My guns are already registered. UI believe in the second amendment but I also believe there should be some accountability.
The Second Amendment is pretty clear that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
We’ve always had to register pistols for as long as I can remember here in New York, but not rifles
Yea because criminals register their weapons right?
They did that in Germany in 1934, I believe. Then the Nazi's came and took them by force. Didn't turn out too good for the Nazi's, did it?
If you have to register a car, why shouldn't you have to register your gun?
No. And just to be sporting and fair I'll even remind then that I live in a "stand your ground" state. Still want to try and take it?
