Im just waiting for yet another teacher to misfire in class, for a student to steal a teachers gun, or for a mass shooting to happen and no teachers fire at the assailant

So it is preferable to watch police spanking it for a few hours willfully allowing the shooter free reign? It's a bad situation all around but if there's a chance it can be improved isn't that worth it? Isn't the standard according to Fauci "if even one life might be saved"?

Not really. Teachers are routinely exhausted, stressed, underpaid and disrespected. How much time do you think it'll be before one uses it on students, either fatally or as a threat? Or like a couple years ago, accidentally fire it in class and nearly hit a student? How long until a student steals it and uses it or sells it? Hell, often times you'd be asking a student to kill a teenager or a child. That one brat in virginia shot his teacher in class. So, you're now saying you expect another teacher to shoot and kill a kid not even 8 years old?

Come on man, give me a break. Sounds to me like we should force the cops to do their jobs instead of expecting teachers to kill kids.

Its not something anybody wants to think about, certainly not enjoys. But those who are willing to undergo the training and background checks and assume the extra degree of scrutiny and responsibility and public hostility should not only be able if they are willing but rewarded for doing so.

I don't think it's cool or fun or exciting that. We've reached an era in history where we even need to contemplate arming teachers to stop maniacs from killing kids. It's a horrifying. Prospect, but I took an oath to defend. My fellow citizens from all enemies foreign and domestic and that oath did not have an expiration date.
