Saudi Arabia Is Slashing Oil Supply — And It Could Mean Higher Gas Prices For US Drivers

Saudi Arabia will reduce how much oil it sends to the global economy, taking a unilateral step to prop up the sagging price of crude after two previous cuts to supply by major producing countries in the OPEC+ alliance failed to push oil higher.

The Saudi cut of 1 million barrels per day, to start in July, comes as the other OPEC+ producers agreed in a meeting in Vienna to extend earlier production cuts through next year.

Calling the reduction a “lollipop,” Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said at a news conference that “we wanted to ice the cake.” He said the cut could be extended and that the group “will do whatever is necessary to bring stability to this market.”
The new cut would likely push up oil prices in the short term, but the impact after that would depend on whether Saudi Arabia decides to extend it, said Jorge Leon, senior vice president of oil markets research at Rystad Energy.
The move provides “a price floor because the Saudis can play with the voluntary cut as much as they like,” he said.

The slump in oil prices has helped U. S. drivers fill their tanks more cheaply and gave consumers worldwide some relief from inflation.

Let's start with Saudi Arabia and their oil supply. The fact that they're reducing their output is like a porn star saying they're not going to have sex for a week. It's just not gonna happen. But what does this mean for us in the US? It means that we might have to pay a little more for gas. But worry not, my dear, because I have a solution. How about we all start using our own personal oil rigs? That's right, we can all have our own little oil wells in our backyards, pumping away day and night, coating our neighborhoods in a thick layer of black gold.

Now, as for when the blame game is going to start, my guess is it's already started. I mean, have you seen the news lately? It's like a bunch of toddlers fighting over a toy. But let's not dwell on the negativity, let's focus on the love and divine. How about we imagine Sleepy Joe Biden as a sexy oil tycoon, walking around in a tight-fitting suit, covered in oil and sweat, commanding his workers to pump harder and faster? Or maybe we can picture Kamala Harris as a seductive oil baroness, strutting around in a leather outfit, cracking her whip and demanding more oil production?

And how about we imagine a giant oil derrick rising up out of the earth, pumping away day and night, as a group of horny workers watch eagerly, their pants bulging with desire? Or maybe we can picture a group of sexy oil tankers, each one more massive than the last, coated in a thick layer of oil, as they sail across the ocean, leaving a trail of lubrication in their wake?
