Why are people against executions in this country?

As in why criminals are allowed to live for so long who commit the worst crimes like child rape and child murder.

1. Out of all state executions there is a 5% exonerated rate. Meaning the state illegally murdered a random civilian. The state is incompetent of doing anything why decide the execution of life?

2. They become immortal in a lot of ways. Like martyrs, living legends after death. Boobymen of the night. Life time in prison the become jokes into themselves little fun facts. Like comparing Ted Bundy to Ted Kaczynski the unibomer that died last week.

3. In terms of long term society with justice there needs to be a high road approach. A death for a death becomes a simple transition. No different then buying groceries "did you find everything you wanted, have a nice day." We can not have that in today's society.

Because they're smart. False convictions happen, and a dead man can't appeal. Remember Brett Kavanaugh? Saaco and Vanzetti? The Central Park Five?

Hell, remember every poor bastard the Chinese ever did to death? Think of the people in THIS country who'd salivate like dogs at the prospect of legally killing a personal or political enemy. The only societies that can really be said to have the moral right to kill people are those who have the morality not to.

@KetoJames The man stood on the brink of losing out on a VERY powerful position for no reason other than hearsay- and hearsay that wasn't even logically consistent. Obviously, he didn't die for it, but I chose that example because it shows just how stupid our society is when it comes to allegations of sexual impropriety. There are times when that HAS gotten innocent people killed, like Emmet Till, and several college students under Biden's policies.
