I just love how fake this post is. Firstly many of us already do barley anyone uses real cash, 2nd you can still have markets and privacy still exists, 3rd your telling me homeless don't have phones? Your telling me homeless people don't have bank accounts? I call bullshit on both of those lol.

A card does not require internet when actually used. So no you don't need to be connected to internet if buying from a shop. Then as for wifi to access stuff welp plenty of places have free wifi and it does not cost a lot to have a sim card.

Every transaction will be tracked? Yeah... cause the government has enough people to control and track every single transaction out there sounds like somebody is buying into foil hats.
Also and the best part is there is literal black markets that exist on the internet, places you can go to buy all kinds of shit not allowed. There is many Free movie sites and guess what the government can't do shit to shut them all down.
If you think the government are competent enough to track everything... then your delusional to the point of no return.

I totally believe a black market would rise in response to CBDC. This means much of the population would be criminalized, which is not a good outcome. Also, there is a huge difference between policing the internet and having control of a blockchain. The blockchain ledger, if designed to record identity and the goods being transacted, would be much more easily policed.

And while black market online would grow so would crackdown on it therefore once again leveling out also this wouldn't be a higher population criminalised as it would be the same people who used to do that activity in person.

If military and security defences have a had time tracking all terrorist activity when they put so much effort and resource into it. You can Imagine banks will have a hard time to try track all transactions everywhere while trying to use it their advantage.

Overall there wouldn't be much difference. As it all counterbalances it's self. For every tracking system there is anti-tracking, for every person they can track there is another they can't. And unless you are priority they aren't gonna bother wasting time to look at you.

And tbh this all talking without the other big point which is the government don't want to make feel like you are in a dictatorship. There is a certain levels and psychology that goes into this but it's much easier to keep a society going by having people living freely than them becoming unhappy.
So by tactical advantage it's actually in their interest to make us feel like we live in a free world.

This is why UK it's self actually has tons of Surveillance in fact one of the highest with only China beating it, but they never really use it outside of serious threats. Because if people caught onto the fact they were been watched all the time it would lead to untrust and more rebellion than good citizens.
But also they don't have the time in the world anyway to watch all recordings on every camera so while they are theoretically always watching they don't utilise it to that extent.

A lot of the things listed are untrue. I’m a server and people have no issues with tipping cashless. A lot of restaurants are now pooling tips together now anyways and that results in people not being able to take their cash home instantly/ every tip now has to be recorded anyways. I do wish there was an option to still have cash for other reasons being though

Hey, if the government wants to try, be my guest, but there will always be underground cash markets. Trade. Even if cash stops as currency, there will still be a use for it somewhere.

I do get worried about these banks and their chips in the cards. They keep track of what you buy and if you buy something you normally wouldn't, they deactivate your card. I had SO much trouble with mine last year when I bought this laptop. Though, when my aunt took most of my belongings, and then tried to use my card, I got a notification on my phone. That's how I knew what she was doing, so I guess there's a plus.

A lot of people say there will be less problems if society goes cashless, like less robberies, less murders over money. Probably to some extent. I mean, when someone steals my cards, all I have to do is open an app and tap a selection and those cards are useless! 30 seconds is all it takes! SO, maybe they're onto something!

Not exactly. I think western society today is like the Titanic, except the boat is not just sinking it's on fire cause the passengers set fires in some of the rooms. Cashless stuff is just 1 of the fires. I don't have time to get stressed about that while I'm trying to get my lifeboat ready.

In my country the problem is the excessive usage of cash that favour illegal markets, unregistered labour and hidden transactions. In a cashless society those things would be very difficult since, as you wrote, every penny would be tracked.

Yes, I would not be keen on a cashless society. Governments can too easily track you and intervene and control your spending. Like with Covid. If the government imposed a quarantine or a curfew, they can turn off your ability to access your accounts and buy gas or anything else if you drive too far away from your home or they can turn it off at 10pm... etc. OTHERS would too easily have the ability to just punish people by controlling their accounts.

There won't be a cashless society for a long time. You could still sell items to people as there are apps and blue tooth devices that allow payments, so you could do a bootfair for example and take payment by card. I've seen big issue sellers with card machines, people will adapt
