Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThe Trump administration. But not because it's better. They both suck. But they respect Trump much the way you would a baby holding a loaded gun. It's not that you think the baby is deserving of your respect but you know the baby is a loose cannon that kill you with the gun at the slightest wrong move.
With the Biden administration you know they're weak and know just how to play him. So there simply isn't anything to respect about him.

Respected or well liked? Trump is not well liked internationally but he wasn't really tested because he might nuke them. I know that some countries are playing Biden's "senior moments" on their news broadcasts and my impression from my overseas friends is that Biden is likeable but pitied and weak.

Believe me we had no respect for trump at all. He was a failshow and his funny videos was the best politicians in america have procduced during his time, when it comes to reputation. We did pity American citizens during his time but we still do now. The most liked AND respected president america had during my time was by FAR Obama.

@msmissydc nobody in America except for leftists cares what the international community thinks. Obama was a stain on our country and Biden is making Obama look like gold. Biden even managed to make Jimmy Carter look good. That's quite the accomplishment. Pre-covid , Trump's economy was the best in 50 years.

@ImalwaysrightOK Trump made Obama look like gold as well. Both Trump and Biden are absolute shitshows. Only good for the memes, nothing else.

Vote shows what Americans on this site that actively look for opportunities to put Trump in the limelight think is the truth. Europe favours Biden by a significant margin, like an average of 70% for Biden and 30% for Trump (excluding non-voters and people voting for other candidates), despite knowing that he is Sleepy Joe. As a European I can assure you that these polls are accurate. Other polls show that most of the world favours Biden. But I am unfamiliar with a lot of places so I don't know how accurate the polls are. But still, Larger scale polls with non-Americans show the truth more accurately than this poll.

@reds-noro Of course everyone prefers the American willing to spend dozens of billions of their military needs and hundreds of billions on their shared climate goals. No European likes the guy who said "Spend the 2% GDP on military as determined by NATO agreement", though he turned out to be right. No European liked the guy who said "Don't be dependent on Russian oil & gas", though he turned out to be right. Nobody liked the guy who said "We need to become self-sufficient in energy production, which can only be done through oil & gas", because this was against the climate change international lobby, though he turned out to be right.
- +1 y
@Naydyonov we don't care about your military spending. We are contributing more per person to climate goals, so the American presidents that want to back out because of the cost are just seen as babies. The only people here who were saying that we shouldn't be dependant on Russian fossil fuels were climate activists, not Americans. Denmark is doing quite good on the green energy front and France got 1/3 of their electricity from nuclear power plants. This shows that we do not necessarily need fossil fuels to become self-sufficient.
This all comes down to the fact that everything you just said, apart from the climate goals, does not impact our view of American presidents. Not everything is centered around you. We got our own matters to focus on. Our opinion on American presidents might not be perfect, but we got a decent idea of who is a travesty and who is not. Both Biden and Trump are travesties. It's just that Biden is not actively drilling international relations into the ground by simply visiting a place. And even if we got that wrong, that's not the point. It's about international respect. Not accuracy. - +1 y
@reds-noro The climate change people are generally against both fossil fuels and nuclear. Germany is the better example of where climate change people had success.
Really? So Europeans would be okay with America closing down bases in Europe? - +1 y
@Naydyonov actually, half of climate activists are pro-nuclear. Once again see France. With the rise of fusion it is only going to become more pro-nuclear. Germany just wants other countries to supply its energy needs. Fucking assholes. But still doesn't impact our view on American presidents.
Which is still the point of this post. You can say whatever you want, but the fact is that the world respects Biden more than Trump. - +1 y
@reds-noro We've still not gotten to the core issue: Why exactly should Americans care what Europeans think of US presidents?
We discuss it because it is the asked question, but in reality, it is quite unimportant. The only real quality foreigners need to see in a US president is strength, so they know not to fuck with America. Otherwise, there is almost no need to care, as long as the president is acting more or less like a president should. - +1 y
@Naydyonov buddy, someone literally posted a poll on this site. There are always people that are curious about this. Someone asks the question, and people answer it. You don't have to care about it. But for the people that do, an answer is provided. This is not about you. This is about how the world sees American presidents. Your opinion on the matter is completely irrelevant. If you don't care, don't say a thing. You probably do care. You prefer Trump and are upset the world disagrees with you. Nothing wrong with that. But saying 'why should we care about what the world thinks' after coming here is just overdosing on copium.
- +1 y
@reds-noro This site is Q&A, so obviously it is just a question like any other, but realistically, it doesn't matter that people didn't respect Trump, because they also knew they shouldn't fuck with him. In all practical ways, whether people respect American presidents is irrelevant. This goes for both Trump and Biden. Having no respect for Biden, laughing at his dementia, will not change America's dominant position in the world. Thinking Trump is ridiculous has no practical effect. Unless America's economy crashes or military becomes weak, it will always be the big brother in any relationship, including with Europe.
- +1 y
@Naydyonov so? That's still not the point of the poll. You are malding so hard right now. Trying to find excuses to make yourself feel better. Try to act like you are in control mate. Let that patriotism shine through. Make yourself feel superior simply for being American. Fucking pathetic.
- +1 y
@reds-noro I'm not American. I just recognize that America's position in the world is such that it can essentially do whatever it wants (be hypocritical, overtly & covertly influence other countries' elections, policies, etc) and get off scot-free.
Yes, most foreigners respect Biden over Trump. But this really doesn't matter. In all practical ways, most of the world will continue to bow down to America as long as America remains dominant in all regards, regardless of their respect for the president. So long as there isn't an element of being unafraid of the president (i. e: thinking he is weak).
I know full well that Europeans, especially liberal Europeans, prefer Biden. What I also know is that this doesn't change anything for America. Any European country needs America much more than America needs it.
I think you think I am arguing with the idea that 70% of Europeans favour Biden. I'm not. I'm just commenting that it really doesn't matter what Europeans think about one president or the other, as long as they believe America is a country they need for investment, trade, and protection.
- +1 y
@Naydyonov you just can't read. Oh well.
- +1 y
@reds-noro Read what? I know what you think of the poll. I just commented that it doesn't matter what the poll results are, it won't change anything. It could be 100% for Trump from Europe, so what? NATO & EU would remain. Trade would continue. Investment would continue. It could be Biden 100%. NATO & EU & trade & investment would all continue.
- +1 y
@Naydyonov it doesn't matter that you say the poll results don't matter. Someone asks a question and you give an incorrect answer by just talking about something else. 'Where is the nearest supermarket?' 'Oh, take a right, then a left, cross 2 streets and then take a left again. You will see a building with the name 'Hooghoudt' on top of it. That is where you can find the student association Vindicat.' It's not what they asked for. It's cool to know, but just completely irrelevant.
Sorry for mistaking you for an American by the way. Thought you were Jimmy this entire time. - +1 y
@reds-noro I just made a comment. I'm not saying the question shouldn't have been asked. Just like you commented your view (based on your experience and knowledge of other polls) that this poll doesn't truly reflect reality, I commented my view that it doesn't matter what the poll results are.
- +1 y
@reds-noro It's okay. Canada is close enough to America. I don't know what a Jimmy is :D

@Naydyonov let's just blame Jimmy (person who made the original opinion that I replied to) for this. I just know he is up to something.
