What country is Americas greatest ally? Do you think Americans respect our Ally nations?

I think it is between the United Kingdom and France.

Some say Israel but I see no cultural connection compared to the other two nations.

I was a little shocked to see some Americans being disrespectful towards the death of the Queen saying things like the founding fathers would be happy.
I respect the nation of the UK so I must respect it’s monarch and head of state.

Especially considering the cultural connections America has with Britain.

As for the queen, there were Brits who who praised her death also. The thing is that royalty and nobility were outlawed from the start in the US. When the country was formed they didn't want any part of that system. I think a lot of American think it's a very antiquated system and find it hard to believe that kings and queens still exist in the modern world.

I suspect most American, including myself, have no idea what the heck the queen even did. I was really saddened by her death, but not because she was queen. It was because she was such an icon who was queen my entire life. Whether people know what she did or not, she is still one of the most recognizable faces in the world. For that matter, she is one of the most recognizable faces in history. Even though I don't understand why royalty still exists, she had the whole motherly matriarch thing going on.

This is a really good question, and I don't think there's just one answer because different countries are better allies in different areas.

Your question is complicated. I think we need to distinguish between two things, cultural ties and alliances.


I don't think the US is a bigger ally. I mean alliances can be changing, so the US has allies according to its interests like any other nation, for example an ally of the US today can become a rival in the future, and the relations between the US and the UK and even France could be sometimes very stormy. In this sense, we cannot consider that there is a greater ally.


But for the cultural links, it seems that the Americans are very close to the English. After all, the people who came to populate the Thirteen English colonies in America were English. So without hesitation, despite the fact that there has been a lot of immigration over the centuries, I would say that from a cultural point of view the greatest ally of the US is the UK.

I look at France with as much respect and reverence as the United Kingdom even though the US and UK are both Anglo sphere nations.

That's nice, but it's logical from a historical point of view that the Americans are closer to the English than to the French.

Funny enough, the French and the English are actually very close, William the Conqueror brought a bit of French culture to this English society and we can say that the English also influenced the French society. And the English sovereigns, carried the title of King of France until 1800, Napoleon will require that the English give up this title.
