If you were alive then (and in the US), where were you on 9/11/01?

I think I was in the fourth grade but I don't remember being in school when it happened. I remember being home for some strange reason but I must have been in school. Maybe the following day we didn't go to school? I can't remember.

I was in forth grade as well. I remember it happened in a school day because the teacher brought in a tv and had us watch the news that day

We weren’t allowed to watch it. I didn’t see coverage until I got home that day.

I wish I could remember whether we watched it at school and that's how I found out or if it was at home. I believe I was home though. I don't think we were allowed to watch it at school either.

In college, woke up to the news of the first plane via my roommate's clock radio. Took a shower and went to my first class. Second class got cancelled right away. Went back to the dorm and watched TV in the common area for the rest of the day with everyone else.

I wasn't alive, but my mother was with my father in the living room and watching the news when it happened I'm pretty sure. I know I've asked them before and I think that's what they said. They were scared afterwards thinking it could happen anywhere.

I was in high school. 10th grade? I remember someone yelling “we’re all going to die” as a joke. I hadn’t heard what happened until class when they rolled out the tvs.

Would teachers feel free enough to roll out TVs if something like 9/11 happened today?

I was in the eighth grade. We'd just finished taking our class photo when one of my teachers came to me and told me what had happened.

I had moved out of New York two years earlier and at the time I was in San Francisco. My phone kept ringing like mad and it was STUPIDLY early so I was ignoring it and then finally got up and check these messages.

Yeah I was on a family trip. The day it happened I just remember me and my siblings seeing planes on a screen and us thinking it was cool even though it was a dark tragedy in reality
