I have the power to make some people happy. I think the world needs more of that. What do you do to help change the world?

I don’t have big goals like that to change the world…I hope the little things help.
Growing up I had a lot of help…. or maybe I just enjoyed talking to people so I learned a lot from them…that made me happy…

now that I am older…I still enjoy chatting up with other people…so if anythng I said to them and make them smile for a moment that they forget how tire they were…and if I tip them a few extra dollars for their hard work…to me … I hope I have helped them some.
I also help those to not be dependent…but to be independent.
such as don’t do things for kids…let them figure it out. We adults often lack the patience to give a chance for the little ones to learn and grow.

I started out with Linux Slackware in the 1990s and have not looked back. I have not used a Windows computer in ages

I use Ubuntu in my class. I really did not know much until i was assigned to teach this course but it is a lot better that I thought it would be. t one of the places I used to work we had a system that ran SCO Unix and had a bunch of terminals hooked up to it. I hated working on that thing becuse it was such a piece of crap. It sort of soured me on Unix.

I tried FreeBSD OS, That was no fun (but this was years ago) had to load each driver every time I booted up the machine.

But FreeBSD was so ham radio software friendly, Unlike other OS's Windows Wouldn't even pay nice with my radios at all back then

@humanearth It is interesting how different flavors of Linux can do certain things better than others.

Like Fedora great for professional video editors

Ubuntu great for the Windows users trying Linux for the 1st time

Slackware great for the DOS and command line lovers

And so on and so on

I am able to reach new York state almost every weekend on 40 meters. Today I can't, to freaking cloudy out. I can barely get my signal to Michigan

I don’t listen to them, I see it’s much different than when I was a kid, the canal doesn’t freeze over anymore like when we were kids and could walk to the next town on ice that thick back then, I don’t know if it’s man-made or not but it’s definitely much different than it was years ago , we definitely had hot summers in the past, but somethings up with the water levels and it doesn’t get as cold as it used to at least not here, but I’m near the water
