yes. every basic drivers test is probably in an automatic vehicle. The passenger instructor will also have brakes on there side and will take away steering and knowledge enough to keep everyone safe to get on the side of the road.
Manual, you're on your own. Maybe your relatives will help you. It's also not that crazy for your parents to let you drive your neighborhood on light traffic times at the age of 10. So if Manual is important to any individual they probably practice it illegally before getting a learning permit, the first "legal" step in driving. The DMV will never approve of that but also understand that's American culture so unless it's a problem keep learning when you can at your own risk

Yes.
You can take the test on one or the other. It doesn't matter. They don't test you on both or have manual or automatic transmission categories on driver's licenses. Once you have your license, you can drive either kind. A license is a license.I suppose they think you're unlikely to get very far if you can't drive one.
My problem is the other way around. On the rare occasions I drive an automatic, when I want to drift into a parking space, I slam my left foot onto the break, where the clutch ought to be!
Yes. Learning how to drive manual is not mandatory on a drivers test.
