In the U. S. they certainly are. The U. S. Census lists these examples for the ancestral countries of white people: Ireland, Germany, Morocco, and Lebanon. While Turkey is not listed, it fits in this list. Iran and Afghanistan are also still White but Pakistan is Asian.
In reality our species does not have races as we are not domestic animals. We are wild animals and therefore could have subspecies, but we do not have those, either. Some other wild animals such as the Eurasian Red Squirrel have subspecies (at least 5 in this example), but there are also many that do not.

Anatolian farmers migrated through Europe around 7000 to 8000 BCE and form a large part of European genetics plus North African genetics. In fact Sardinans are largely unaltered from that.
There was a further infux of proto Indo Europeans later on around 4000 BCE but mostly in Northern Europe.
If you define Mediterranean people as white than I think you have to include Turkish people.. To not do so you would have to argue a subsequent influx of turkic people takes them out of that. Turkish is not an indo Europeand language by the way
I’ve been to turkey twice and I definitely don’t think they look white.
