Do you believe drivers who drive under the speed limit should stay off the road?

I see it all the time where I live. Drivers driving 10 to 20 under the speed limit I understand learners as they are learning and it could be their first time driving on a main road, but I am talking about those who have had their licence for years and still drive well under the speed limit. Even on the motorways and freeways, you have drivers who are doing between 60 and 80 in a 100 zone, which is extremely dangerous especially when these roads are often used by semi trucks and trucks cannot suddenly slow down like a car can.

I'm also aware some people may not be familiar with some areas and they could be looking for a particular street, but the thing is, most times if you miss a street you can just follow it up and turn into the next street and do a u turn and turn back around.

So, here is my take on these self-centered assholes that drive slowly. They all think they are safe drivers, and good drivers. Which sure they probably are, but they are a hazard to everyone around them and they do not have any perspective on what that means.

I live in rural area, on mountain roads in California. White signs are speed limits, yellow signs are warning signs. The speed limit on all California State Highways is 55 mph / 90 Km, unless otherwise posted. When it comes to turns and there are yellow signs posted that say 35 mph on the turn. That is 35 mph to lowest denominator, like if you're a semi-truck you really need to slow down... but these ass holes in their sedans just mesh the brake pedal and slowdown from 55 to sometimes 20 to 25 mph. This is so dangerous; it causes a chain reaction all the way back down the road. Yellow signs are NOT speed limit signs; they are just warning signs!!!

Like it is so dangerous and for locals it drives use flipping nuts, because an average car could take that turn easy at 90 KM / 50 MPH... but these f'ing tourist just are a hazard on the road. Then when it snows, and these people have no idea how to drive in the snow. But they all think they are the safest drivers on the planet. Driving like 25 to 30 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone. 25 to 30, is like 50 km in 90 km zone.

Driving 25 and smashing the break in the snow and ice around every turn IS NOT SAFE!!!

It's also a state law that if you have more than three cars stacked up behind you, that you must use turn outs and let people pass... but they never do. They just do not understand how they are moving hazards on the road, and by no mean are they being safe when they cannot maintain the average speed of traffic.

Only because other drivers will grow impatient and reckless to get out from behind them. Plus, the more vehicles that are all crammed together behind a slow driver increases the risk of collisions such as tailgating or stupid ass break checking.


Back when I was younger, I drove at excessive speeds in order to isolate myself from a group of vehicles. I wanted to stay clear of anyone who had a millisecond lapse in judgment. I wasn’t reckless or impatient when trapped within a group, I always waited for the opportunity to safely pass and then the pedal went to the metal.

I'd rather people drove slowly rather than a good for nothing idiot going over the speed limit because they're too stupid to plan their day properly. I've worked with people like this who speed and they are brain damaged stupid... stupid with a capital S... because their tiny little brains don't have the ability to comprehend if I set my alarm earlier I won't drive like a useless shit to work or wherever else.

No, it's a speed limit, meaning you're not supposed to go faster than what is posted. You can go slower, unless the road has a minimum speed limit posted, so long as you do not unjustly impeded traffic flow.

In short, there's nothing wrong with slowing down and enjoying the ride. If you don't like it, you can always pass the slow car... or take another road.

55 stay alive - in all seriousness it’s a limit. as long as the traffic is moving it’s ok as you have to keep up with traffic according to the Highway Code. Also the limit is 70mph on a motorway but legally you only have to be able to travel at 45mph. It maybe different in other countries. So no I think up to 20mph slower on a 70 is fine but 20mph on a 30 does annoy me as 30 is slow enough
