What is something that you think ends up getting blown way out of proportion?

I feel like politics a lot of the time ends up getting way blown over. Same with a lot of products. They claim to be better than the other or have some kinda new "patented technology" but still work the same as other brands.

First thing that comes to mind is really the impact a president has on the economy. I feel like my whole life I’ve just watched presidents get blamed or praised for the state of things, and it seems obvious to me that it’s just so much more complex than the actions of one politician. I see the right saying life in America has never been worse than under Biden because apparently gas prices and inflation are the only measure of economics🤦‍♂️😂 I see the left countering with job creation, employment, and positively-trending GDP numbers, and it’s all thanks to Biden. It seems like we’re all ignoring that we’re coming out of an global pandemic unprecedented in modern times, so shit is just going to be all over the place while the ship rights itself.

I tend to believe the US economy is doing alright, all considered, but I’m not ready to celebrate Joe Biden for it. It’s life. Life happens, regardless of who the politicians are, and while some things can be of direct consequence of them, most of it really isn’t, we just say it is. Someone will always be at the helm when good and bad things happen.

Also fair to include that there are two other branches of government that can either push or stymie a president’s agendas, for reasons not necessarily related to what’s best for Americans. Shit, American voters themselves can’t even be trusted to make sound decisions, lmao, we’re the ones voting these people into office. Sometimes I see politicians doing bad, and I wonder if it’s just symptomatic of a larger problem that Americans are bad. Obviously that’s overly simplistic language, but I mean we have poor priorities and values, and we elect the wrong captain and crew to steer the boat in the wrong direction.
