Yes, I have epilepsy and my epilepsy is extremely well managed (not a single seizure in over a year).

I am cleared to drive in the UK. Doctors, epileptics and the DLA (Driving license agency) have much more knowledge about epilepsy and driving than people who do not have epilepsy and know NOTHING about the condition.

The reality is most epilepsy is not photo-sensitive, are very well medicated to the point they live very very normal lives.

Yes, I have had epilepsy since I was 15 and I have been driving for almost ten years. My last seizure was about 15 years ago.

I don't disclose my seizure disorder to employers anymore, or even friends I meet because I don't think it's necessary. Also because I don't think I am taken seriously when I do disclose it, in order for me to do so it would need to be a formal medical thing.

Sure. I know a few people who have it, and under modern medication they rarely get an episode.

In fact you are more likely to get problems with people with diabetes not managing their medication/food and blacking out. Than people with epilepsy.

I know a few people who suffer from epilepsy, it is a very unfortunate condition but the reality is if they have a seizure while driving they will crash and possibly kill not only themselfs but others.

If it is not under control they should not and cannot drive. This is a major problem for most of the country until such time that they can get self-driving cars. But realistically they probably shouldn't be living alone either.

As the son of an epileptic driver, there are tests and regs that are attached to his license. Like testing for renewal, etc. And hospitals are required to turn in people who had seizures.

So like old people or…dumbasses, the roadway is rife with dangers and full of terrors.

Yes, if the medicine is perfectly adjusted they won't suffer from seizures and are perfectly capable of driving.

No. It's a safety hazard. One of my co-workers had a seizure at work and got her driving privileges taken away for life, so I know at least in California it's illegal

Yes I do. My best friend has epilepsy and it's rare for a seizure to come on.

When I was a cab driver, I had a really awesome guy who was a Kung Fu instructor as a client.
He had epilepsy, and would have at least 3 seizures during our short trip to his studio.
He couldn't make enough money with his Kung Fu class, so he was also a house painter. His painter boss wouldn't allow him to work on ladders.

And if that wasn't enough, the poor bugger was diabetic. He had no insurance and almost all of his money went for meds.

But he grabbed himself a mail-order Chinese bride, and last I talked to him, they were planning to move to China. He said that in China the meds would be free.

I'm leery of him moving to China, but I think he's out of options.

He told me about the palm tree. If someone tries to push you backwards, and pushes on your right shoulder, the WORST thing you can do is resist. lol
When a hurricane hits a tropical place, the only thing that survives are the palm trees. Palm trees don't fight the force, they just bend with the force. If the guy tries to push you backwards, then just go with it. He will probably fall on his ass. lol
