I thought we were finally done with this BS, but apparently not. You don’t impose things on others that they don’t want to do
495 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's pretty simple really. Just say, no I'm not doing that and move on with your day. If you see a company try to enforce a mask mandate in their store, let everyone else know and then Bud Light their ass. It's pretty fucking simple. We've already shown you that it works, so now do it.

+1 yYeah, we are done with it. If someone tells you to put on a mask, you politely decline.

I’ll decline, but they’re not polite. So I will respond with hostility

You are the reason humanity sucks. Without people like you we could easily eradicate 99.99% of all transmittable diseases in the world by just self isolating for around 4 weeks. Do that just once in human history and humanity is saved for generations to come, but we can't. Because people like you are impossible to work with.227 Reply- +1 y
YOU are the reason humanity sucks
- +1 y
Right. Because the flu went away right? It comes around every year, and we never mandated people to wear masks. Crazy concept, huh idiot?
- +1 y
Do you wear a helmet around your house too? Might as well
- +1 y
Yes, the flu would go away if you wore masks properly or if everyone on earth would self isolate for 4 weeks. Diseases are not magical, they dont just appear randomly you know. They actually have to make the whole person to person contact and transmission. Stop that and you stop diseases.. as in all of them.. at the same time..

@Juxtapose I think you meant it the other way around and yes, I do recognize how terrible human drivers are and yes, I do promote development in AI driving because of it.
The difference is however that AI driving is really difficult and we can't really replace driving with anything readily available either but wearing a mask or staying home for 4 weeks is SUPER EASY and something we can do literally at any time. - +1 y
@Juxtapose Again, you are the problem with humanity. Its not even that someone has to force you to do something, if you were an actual living, breathing, thinking individual then you should come to these conclusions on your own because they are truly the best ones. The only reason someone has to force you is because you are stupid enough not to get it.
Stupidity and freedom does not mix well. Also I do not care about your opinion regarding self driving cars. - +1 y
- +1 y
@Juxtapose he’s the type of asshole that would advocate for not wearing a mask to be illegal. These types of people are dangerous and to be avoided at all costs
- +1 y
@Juxtapose How absolutely childish. Lets switch this to another problem USA has today and just re-examine how stupid you are.
Water crisis. Namely, how you need to conserve water to maintain your own water supply. "But ma freedums toh!" *continues watering his stupid lawn and causes water crisis that kills the local environment and causes everyone to have to import drinking water or die*
You are literally making the world a worse place because you are stupid. I am not even going to ask how you are feeling about causing this because I already know you dont get it. I am just going to point out that USA is going to shit today because of actions like yours and there is nothing you can do outside of admitting you are wrong and start fixing your problems. Ill be there that day, to either laugh at your demise or tell you that I told you so with a shit eating grin. - +1 y
@Kingofkings1992
Well then, lets switch this around. If you are for freedom, how would you react if I was to go around naked? Sounds pretty harmless to me, people will not even die from it. - +1 y
@Juxtapose I dont care if you own a lawn or not, you are the type of person that would do such a thing and once again, why humanity sucks.
You should look into the "Tragedy of the commons" to see just how much of an asshole you actually are. - +1 y
@Juxtapose First of all, it depends on where you live if you need to water a lawn or not. I can't believe I have to supply gardening advice to you too. Secondly, it does not matter. Your argument of personal freedom does not take into consideration other people nor society as a whole. As such you are objectively the type of person that would do such a thing.
- +1 y
@Soteris you don’t need to supply advice to anyone, that’s what you’re not seeming to grasp. There is not one single study that has confirmed that masks are effective against stopping the spread of Covid. It is merely a facial decoration, and the people who wear them for that purpose look like colossal idiots. Just live your life, and stop trying to control others.

There are countless studies regarding the effectiveness of masks against Covid19 such as this:

How can you even be on the internet and somehow dodge the torrential downpour of studies regarding the subject? - +1 y
"A new scientific review of 78 randomized trials studying the effectiveness of physical interventions in lessening the spread of respiratory viruses found “little to no” evidence that large-scale masking efforts were effective at preventing the wide spread of Covid-19.
The meta-analysis, published by Cochrane Library and led by 12 researchers, found that the difference between wearing a regular surgical mask or not wearing a mask at all “may make little to no difference in how many people caught a flu-like illness/COVID-like illness.” It also “probably makes little or no difference in how many people have flu/COVID confirmed by a laboratory test.”
www.google.com/.../ - +1 y
"Joe Biden proclaimed, “Wearing masks is not a political statement, it is a scientific imperative.” He was wrong. There is little evidence supporting generalized use of masks.
A pre-COVID systemic review of interventions to combat the spread of respiratory viral diseases by the highly regarded Cochrane Library found that medical/surgical mask wearing makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza or influenza-like illnesses compared to not wearing a mask.
A recent review of the literature reported two randomized controlled clinical trials of the effectiveness of masking in COVID-19. One failed to demonstrate a statistically significant benefit. The second found small, marginally statistically significant reductions in viral transmission for surgical masks but not for cloth masks. Thirteen of 14 tests assessing mask-wearing in non-COVID respiratory infections failed to find a statistically significant benefit for masks.
Randomized controlled clinical trials are the gold standard in medical research because randomization minimizes the effect of unmeasured confounding variables and researcher bias that can occur in observational studies.
Early in the pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, British health authorities, and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control all refrained from recommending widespread mask usage, often discouraging it. Dr. Anthony Fauci emailed in February 2020 that the typical mask “is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.” In a March 8 interview on “60 Minutes” he said that “there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.” - +1 y
Nevertheless, the CDC in April 2020 began recommending mask wearing, including cloth masks. A CDC Science Brief relied on observational masking studies where the evidence suggested benefit, while highlighting the limitations rather than outcomes of studies that suggested the absence of benefit or even harm.
Endorsing cloth masks was disconcerting since an RCT of hospital workers showed far higher infection rates with cloth masks than medical masks.
The CDC repeatedly highlighted an observational study of two COVID-19 positive hair stylists in Missouri who were masked and provided services for several days after developing COVID-19 symptoms to 139 customers, who were mostly masked. Sixty-seven customers who were tested were negative and none of the remaining 72 reported symptoms.
Yet, no one knows if any of the 72, untested, asymptomatic customers were actually infected. Half of COVID-19 infected people are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. In addition, viral shedding and infectiousness is highest in the two to three days before symptom onset, which is before these symptomatic hairdressers encountered the study customers. Finally, there was no control group to show how many customers would be infected by COVID-19 positive hairdressers who did not wear masks."

@Juxtapose That study also mentioned that they could not actually draw any conclusions because they were lacking evidence and reliable data. Not the study I would personally hang my entire argument on but you do you.
I also refer you back to my link which does find a correlation between mask wearing and a decrease in the spread of covid19.
Also the point of a mask such as a n95 mask is not to be tight enough that virus particles can't penetrate through it, that is practically impossible. It is to allow the virus to enter the fabric and then trap it within. That is why its called n95, because it traps 95% of particles of a certain size. Do I really have to explain all of these things to people like you? Furthermore, the main argument for non-medical masks such as cotton masks were to reduce the distance a sick person transmitted their disease and as such lower the transmission value.
That means that people with cloth masks are still infectious, just at a shorter distance. If you are sick and standing next to a person for an hour cutting their hair then that will probably still infect them. If you meet them briefly at a larger distance then that is where the cotton mask might help. If an infected person only infects 5 people instead of 10 because they had a cotton mask on then they severely reduce the spread of the disease since it is logarithmic which means going from 10 to 9 has an exponentially bigger effect than going from 5 to 4.
324 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Why care so much? It's a mask. It's not like people are asking you to get some intrusive medical procedure done on your body. Just put it on when you go in a store for the five minutes you're in there, then take it off when you leave. Easy. The sooner everyone does exactly this simple little thing, instead of digging in their heels making it political--the better off we'll all be at eradicating Covid. But no. We have to deal with stupid people senselessly behaving defiantly that this is just such a violation of rights, slowing this entire process to the point where we'll never get on the rails thanks to people who just won't cooperate for a short period of time.

I find them very harmful to my breathing

No one likes wearing a mask. They're uncomfortable and breathing isn't fun while you wear it. Stop being a child about it and put it on for the five minutes you need to be some place just like the rest of us adults. If you absolutely can't do this, then get someone to go in to a store for you who WILL wear a mask. Simple.
5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Far Eastern countries created a culture to wear a mask for the cold or flu season for decades. They had greater results mitigating both cold and flu infection every single year for those decades creating economic growth while the western world is in bed sick with a basic flu.
Then the global pandemic of covid19 happen. the eastern world effectively kicked the nuts off covid19 using masks and waited for the vaccine. While the American people was being dying be the million questioning mask and vaccines.

It regardless, if a business or homeowner “requires” masks, it’s their right.02 Reply- +1 y
“Oddbeme” is in favor of tyrannical mask mandates. What a surprise!
