What is a controversial opinion you have that seems like common sense to you?

I'll go first. Religion is made up BS and used by manipulative people in power to keep powerless and low intelligence people under their control like cults do. It almost blows my mind how there are average and mentally sane people who genuinely believe in it.

I had a hard time choosing one. Influenced by your take I picked one.

Its funny because mine really is just common sense and anyone educated in the field would understand it:

Family and Friendship are the reasons Capitalism does not work.

The simple common sense is that Capitalism works if and only if society's resources are freqeuently reset - if they were it would be a fantastic system. However that does not happen because we have the notion of inheritance - which is the real reason Capitalism is failing so dramatically and getting worse every generation. Therefore because we care about things and leave what we had to our loved ones, the system fails.

Much like say, Communism does not work because there are bad people in the world, Capitalism does not work because there are good, relations between, people in the world.

I remain curious to when a new ism pops up.

I don't think yours is controversial at all. Maybe only to religious people, but that opinion is very common.

My turn. I have many, but I'll go with this one. Actually, I'll do two. I'll do the two that always get me the most backlash.

The first, I genuinely believe the actions and behavior of specific groups of people are directly responsible for people being racist and bigoted against them.

The second, black people are a lost cause. If you study history and current geopolitics you will see that every black society has collapsed as soon as they were left to run things on their own. Black people have no leadership skills and can only maintain a civilized functioning society when they have White people holding their hand. But their massive egos will never allow them to admit this, as it would compromise their pride and everything they've ever fought for.
