Do you have sympathy for non-offending pedophiles?

Any decent human being would. If people could choose their sexual orientations, there would be still be homosexuals (though not as many as some think), but there would be NO pedophiles. Punishing people for something entirely outside of their control is no less awful when it's a sexual thing than when it's a racial one. And being born with a sexuality that it's immoral to indulge? Euh.

And it IS immoral, make no mistake about that- but the insane social backlash against these people, rather than their actions, makes it social and occupational (if you're a woman) and often physical (if you're a man) suicide to admit to it, which drastically limits their ability to get help, and society's unwillingness to develop new methods to find safe ways to sate those desires and treat these people adds in to create an atmosphere that's ultimately going to lead to MORE kids getting hurt, in one of the worst possible ways.

Even I find the idea of sex robots made to look like children creepy as hell, but if it saves ACTUAL kids from being sexually abused, then I say get those factories running. Long-term, we'll hopefully find better solutions, but in the meantime, we have to work with what we've got.

I don't feel sympathy for people who are sexually attracted to prepubescent children. I think it's super creepy. Such people should keep it to themselves, aside from seeking professional help.

But as long as they know it's wrong and don't act on their sick inclinations, I don't think about them. People shouldn't be punished for mere thoughts.

However, people who do molest children should be severely punished. I would go so far as to say that some crimes deserve torture and mutilation.

As long as they don't do anything to kids I don't think they should be condemned.
It shouldn't be normalized nor should they be open about it. They aren't and shouldn't be part of the lgbtqia.
But I don't think you can condemn someone for something they have no control over.
They're already living with a preference that is impossible to act upon without deserving the worst.
So I don't think they're bad people.
Offending pedophiles however should be punished way more severely than they are.
If proven, inappropriately touch a child, jail for a very long time.
Sex with a child, a bullet, cheap, simple and fast.
Active pedophiles are a waste of space and do nothing but damage.

Yes of course. It’s ultimately not their fault for having those disgusting feelings. Wires get crossed in weird ways. Most likely this guy was molested as a kid, as that’s a commonality in abusers.

We should only shame actions and punish actions.
